We need a bar mainly for squatting. All of the bars at our gym are cheep and have no center knurling. We are trying our best to squat more, but are having trouble keeping the bar from slipping, which seems to hold us back. Can any of you point me in the right direction of a good quality, and good price bar for squatting?I read that Jesup's bars are a good(cheeper)alternative to the texas squat bar,but would like to get your opinions.
Thanks

Scroll down. Great prices on nice bars. You won't find a Texas Power Bar for less.

You can pm Scott Tully. He knows his equipment and suggested a midwest power bar at www.bsolympicgym.com. He said it can handle 700+ squats and deadlifts and it costs a $174 including shipping. You can get it with or without center knurling.

www.jesupgym.com Ask for the midwest power bar. It's not too far from you and a quality bar. The knurling is very sharp. Serves as my all purpose bar.
