Hey Arnell, i ws just reading your training log last night and i was wondering why you havent posted in it in a while. Glad you are ok. Just focus on getting yourself healthy and then think about strongman. diabetes is no joke, its a big change in your life style.......... I have some ppl who are very close with me who have diabetes and I watch them everyday not take care of themselves the way they are suppose. and theres nothing i can do.
I know Adam Morrison who plays in the nba on the wildcats has diabetes and i knowof a few other top athletes but i cant remember their names that have diabetes.

Hey brother I'm glad to hear you came out ok. Type 2 diabetes is not the end of the world and there is a lot you can do to keep it under control. I have some experience with this and my advice is to continue losing weight, exercising, and eating properly. If you live a healthy lifestyle and monitor yourself you will be able to live a long healthy life with few complications. I would also recommend looking into some supplements such as chromium, vanadium, banaba, gymnema sylvestre, bitter melon, fenugreek, cinammon, and B vitamins. Good luck!

Damn Arnell! glad your alright man. Get your health in order first and foremost than worry about competing. I don't see any reason why you can't compete with diabetes.

Glad you made it through the ruff spot.
Everytime you are in the gym or kitchen (especially with diabetes) is an opportunity to make a choice to live longer and stay healthy
It has been my experince that diabetics who exercise decrease the use of insulin, so you may want to keep watch on that. Also keeping a snack like watered down juice is something I read somewhere.
Good luck with healthy eating over the holidays. You can do it. No junk for me either, I may as well just stick that cookie right on my booty, it will end up there anyway.

Thank you all for the kind words and the encouragement . things are so different now ,even being on this board is a bit difficult . not being able to workout the way i'd like to and compete is gonna be hard for a while but i'll be back training I hope by mid to end of next year .the hard part is over, i'm out of the hospital and alive. now it's just time to march on , get healthy , and drop a ton of weight .i'm an athlete i don't know anything else but to fight and push. 225 hear i come . lol... that's gonna take some time . lol
