Topic as above.

Have your neighbours made noise when you slammed the farmer's bars down at the termination of a set?

They ever complained that your sled dragging disturbs their Saturday morning sleep?

No I'm probably lucky. Everyone is a early riser in my court. But in the summer when we get going about 0700 we normally start in my garage with OH or what ever.

When I move in I was sure to get on everyone’s good side. You know moving heavy stuff like pool tables and new appliances.

Now from time to time a neighbor may come out on a Saturday and ask for help. I put the young guys on it. ~ Everybody's happy.

One lady at the end of the street always tell me she loves watching us "strain". I guess she has a thing for fat old guys.

Never had any noise complaints (partially due to cool neighbors, partially due to living out in the sticks) but I did have someone call the cops on me once. I had just moved in to this place, which was pretty out there but there was still a neighborhood. I took my truck out on the road (which almost never had traffic) and was doing harness pulls - pulling it as far as I could in a minute. When I finished, and was putting the harness and chains back in the shed, I noticed 2 police cars going down the road. I walked out to the other side of the yard to see what was going on, and one of the cops drove up and started questioning about my truck. I explained what I'd been doing, and he was amused. While we were talking, the other cop (who'd apparently been at the woman's house who'd called them) came up and was playing the stern role - frowning the whole time, speaking in very terse statements. I again explained what I was doing. He said the lady had mentioned that I had gone into the woods and come back to the road - apparently some sort of nefarious activity. I said I'd gone to pick up a stick so I could mark how far I had gone each time. Eventually he gave up trying to find out what evil I was planning to unleash on the world by pulling my truck up and down the road and left. I mean seriously - if I was going to steal a truck, particularly one I had the keys to, I'm sure there are lots of more efficient ways than to take it to an isolated road and pull it with a harness and a chain. I can only imagine the phone call between the cops and the woman.

The last two places I've lived have had neighbors that complain about my training. Apparently dropping 400+ lbs from shoulder height shakes the home next door. The lady said her dog freaks out and poops blood when it hears loud sounds... isn't that special?

The neighbor I lived beside before was a real toolbox, he lived in Tampa, and had to be at work in Orlando at 5am every morning, nevermind that orlando is 2-3 hours a day. So me training at 7pm was too late for him because he had to go to bed at that time.

That's a pretty hilarious story
We had an experience with the cops once as well. There were four or five of us lifting in Brouse's apartment's garage over the summer. Well two cops showed up and said someone thought there was a fight. I can only imagine what that person must have thought was happening to the poor bloke that was being beaten with the sound of steel clanging and five guys yelling at each other. The cops were pretty cool, however. They seemed pretty amused that someone thought we were fighting.

trained with kevin kinzy and the freak factory crew, people came out of their house with the look of complaining on their face, but once they looked at all of us they decided to just wait till we were done and then they could take a nap

I was doing some sled drags on my driveway, and I hear the neighbor kids call out, "Do you need help moving that?" I had really loaded it up, and was just barely able to move it, thinking to myself, 'knock yourselves out.'

Also, a guy that lives down the hall from me drove his car into 610lbs of Farmer's implements...and nearly me.

I'm guessing he didn't like me doing that there.

Holy crap!! now that is a story that needs finishing. What did you say or do to the goof? What was the damage to his vehicle?

I only have a couple of cool neighbors. I flip my tire in the backyard, but we were here first, and aren't a nuisance, so I don't care what they think.

The only person to complain is the local real estate broker. He feels the tyre cheapens the overall image of our street. On a couple of occasions he's even offered to haul it away for free. Next time that happens I'll take him up on it. He'll be busy looking for a dump to accept the 700 lb. while all that time I'll put an 850 lb. in it's place. Hey, can't blame me for his heart attack.

Which part of Toronto are you staying?

I stayed there while I was an exchange student at UofT.

Well, I was walking up to them to do my heavy set for the day. He came zooming around the corner, I waved like I always do to draw attention to myself and the huge peices of metal in the road. He didn't seem concerned, so I jumped forward with my hands in front of me in that universal stop position. He wasn't real worried about that either. Kerplunk! 610lbs. slides 4 or 5 feet. I knock on his window a few times, after about a minute and a half he collects himself well enough (maybe realizes he didn't hit my kid or anything, and maybe realizes I'm not looking to beat him) to get out of the car. We kind of stare at the cantaloupe sizedent in his bumper and I ask him what he thinks. His only reply is , "Man, it's fine, I gotta get to work." Whatever.

Not my fault. No damage to my stuff. You're an idiot and almost hit me. And what if it was my kid? 270lbs. of bald arian looking mutha screaming and waving aint enough to get you to tap the brake for a second...?

Whatever.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Matt Brouse again.

Matt,
Thanks for the great story, what a fool your neighbor is.
