Some believe that a horrific cataclysm brought an end to the era of Dinosaurs, so it’s only appropriate that a similarly-brutal event brings the Dino Day era to a close . . .

After a decade of promoting some of the sickest competitions in all of NAS, Nick has decided that the 2008 Ohio State Strongman Championships will be the final Dino Day.

We’ll announce the events soon, but you can expect a few gut-wrenching, lung-busting, kahuna-testing medleys and, of course, the multi-keg (uphill) shuttle. Our sponsors and athletes have helped us to raise thousands for some great causes in the past, but we hope to set a record with this one.

Nick will also be selling a lot of equipment and implements at the end of the competition, so this will also be a chance to get some great deals on some cool stuff.

Once we have a list of Equipment, and my guys give me their dream list, we will put the rest up on Maybe Ebay. It will be a Pick-Up and take home after the contest sort of thing.

BUt we will post it so you guys know what we are doing.

Just an FYI, we are not abandoning strongman, I just have some great opportunities, and 3 businesses that I need to devote my time to for the next 3-5 years. SO a lot of this equipment has been sitting in Storage.

Also, an answer to one final question I have been getting.
People who have bought the Phil Video and/or the wrestling video have asked about a seminar on how to truly integrate a functional lifting system into their programs, (one guys, 2 year max in deadlifting is now being done for 6-7 reps) after 10 weeks on the program.

We might have a 2 hour program seminar Friday night. I just gave a similar seminar to the National Throwers Coaches Association 4 weeks ago.

If you are competing in the contest, we would give you a good discount.

Would you be interested?
Thanks, Nick

I'd definitely be interested, but it would kinda depend on cost.

We'll fill in the weights and other details after the first of the year, but here are the events . . .

1.) Alternating Log Press Medley: 90 Seconds (2 Logs, Back and Forth, 2 weights)

2.) Max Partial Dead (I wish I could do this!)

3.) Medley Rotations (Each weight class will do one event, then rotate to the next)
A. 3 Husafell Stone Medley
B. Farmers, Yoke, Tire
C. Drag, HOH, Fingle’s Fingers

4.) Atlas Stones (no tacky)

5.) Uphill Keg Shuttle

You can blame/thank Nick for the fun combination of events.

HOH is Hand over hand, not head of household.

Medley Rotation. LIghtweights will do event "A", Middle on "B", Heavies on "C". After everyone is done, they rotate to the next Medley and do that. There will be 3 rotations, until we are all back together.

Hope that makes it as clear as mud!
