Watch Rambo and I swear you will increase your manliness and set insane pr's today!!!I watched it last night, and can honestly say that it was freakin awesome!!!I figured it would end up being a little disappointing, but I really think it was pulled off very well, and made for a great ending to the Rambo movies.

how could it not be awesome?

i mean the previews show him blowing people away and slitting their throats. It's funny when the "safest" material they can put in a preview is this. ha!

You know what puzzles me about Rambo films?

The first one was actually a really good film. Believable, decent enough script, some reasonable acting, bit political commentary thrown in for good measure.

The rest... are garbage. Honestly I'd rather watch a Steven Segal film than those, and that's not something I say lightly.

He kills 83 people single handed in the last film.

EIGHTY. THREE.

3 people are killed in that film... PER MINUTE.

Utter nonsense.

Here, look at this handy chart to help me make my point -

If you are gonna go by the fact that it's unrealistic, then by that logic, you must not like just about any movie ever made, eh?

We saw it last night and it kicked ass!

Ian, I'm wondering if the real life conflict in Burma averaged 3 kills per minute as well. It has to be close, given the documentary footage they showed in the beginning of all the dead.

3 per minute, is 180 per hour, which is 4320 per day, which makes 1 576 800 per year.

But the better question is "what conflict?" Burma's been under military control since 1962; there's been no conflict in Burma, other than the occasional uprising by the people, which is always brutally crushed by the government controlled army. There was one late last year in fact, in which it's estimated around 30 people were killed, and hundreds other detained.

So assuming that the "conflict" in question is constant abuse of human rights by the Burmese government... I'd be incredibly surprised if they were killing off that many people per-year.

Not that I actually care about this... it was meant as a joke. It's only a Rambo film after all.

I was more wondering how a semi-intelligent film about post-Vietnam stress in special forces troops, spawned a series about a bare chested super human killing machine, that is also the hardest target in the world to hit.

Sunday afternoon pondering and all that...

Unrealistic ? Everyone knows that Rambo movies are real life events portrayed by actors.Only the names are different to protect the identities of those involved ( except Rambos name of course.)

That movie rivaled Saving Private Ryan for realisticness of war in my opinion! Sly is a bad bad man. All I gotta say..........WHO ARE YOU!!!

Forget it. He doesn't kill anyone with his shirt off? How is this useful to me?

I don't think we should over analyze this, but that 3 per minute is movie time, not 'life's time'. How much time transpired in the movie? Divide 236 by that many minutes and what do you get? Useless information :D

But I think you're 100% right on the over analysing. I was but posting in jest.

My ancestors are from Burma... It used to be one of the richest countries in Asia... but shortly after WW2, the English were kicked out and a corupt government took over. They called the country Myanmar.
It's the second largest producer of heroin in the world. I've seen online petitions asking the US to liberate them from their opressive government.

My grandfather, who was anglo-burmese high tailed out of there and lived in England (eventually moving to Nova Scotia, Canada). His brother stayed in Burma and got in a whole mess of trouble. He had to go back and sneak his brother out of the country. He dressed his brother like a woman.

Great, great movie! It is so good, that before you know it the movie is over!! I could've watched hours more!!

This is definitely one of the best movies ever! People in the theater were chearing and applauding at different points in the movie!

Stallone kicks some serious tail, he directed this movie also, pure genius!

Favorite quote from movie is by the British SAS Mercinary...something like..

"These people come here to do God's work, and the Devil has to get them out"
