So I have been working out at least 6 days a week. I stay very focused when I am at the gym and find it to be a great way to release the stresses of the day. I always find a way to get in there...sometimes early, sometimes late. Iwas really not in the mood at all today. I left the house at 6:30 and here it was going on 6:00pm and I had not been home yet. The cold weather was getting to me and I just wanted to get home and relax. I decided I did not have that option. I passed the house and was headed to the gym. I was planning out my workout in my head attempting to motivate myself. Hoping the gym wasn't packed. I looked up and noticed a fifty something year old man running to me in the rain. It was so cold out and he was running hard. He had such determination in his stride. The sun was already going down and the sight of him motivated me. You see he was a double amputee, running in the rain... fast! Man talk about no excuses. So I got to the gym and I decided I needed to "shut up and lift". The sight of him motivated me at the perfect moment. I hope this may motivate one of you.

There is a blind gentleman who comes to the gym everyday with his seeing eye dog...
A couple of folks with physical handicaps that are either in wheelchairs permenantly or on crutches that are always at the gym...
There is an 82 yr old man DL'ing in our gym...
A Vietnam Vet with fused spinal disks who is in constant pain who finds the time to train 5 days a week... heavy wieghts too...
.......
You're right Nicolette... no excuses...

Train hard, train heavy, train smart - enjoy life!

So I saw this guy again. I swear he comes out right when I need a swift kick in the rear. It is funny how that works.

I lived in southeast Georgia for over five years. I can remember groaning over a chilly 50 degree evening! Now that I live up north again, 50 degrees is shorts weather :) It's all relative.

It's supposed to get down to 35 here tonight. Time to dig out the long johns and overcoat. Even on the weekend it's only getting up to 64 on Saturday and 72 on Sunday. This is ridiculous. I may have to wear pants all week!
