Ive heard that these 2 have wreslted (amatuer style) and Kurt has dominated. IMO this would be a very interesting fight and i would like t see it

I do not watch UFC much. Who do you think would be favored to win?

If I remember correctly, Angle said he wanted to fight Chuck Liddel. That would be fun to watch.

I think Kurt Angle would Kill Brock Lesner in a mma fight . not taking anything away from Lesner but Angle is the real deal . But both were awesome amatuer wrestlers , would be interesting to see .

It would be more interesting if they got gold medalists/champions from different sports to fight each other, like when Hidehiko Yoshida (gold medal in Judo) fought Rulon Gardner (gold metal in wrestling)

For that matter, Mariusz and Zydrunas. Or make it a 6 man brawl, with the IFSA podium against the WSM posium.

I might be wrong, but Im relatively sure that Kurt Angle is an Olympic medal winning wrestler, and Brock has college experience, meaning Angle would have the edge.

I met Angle at the airport once, and he is actually smaller than me, and Im not a huge guy!! Not that that means all in fighting, but he has his work cut out if he's gonna fight a monster like Lesnar....I for one would take Angle in this fight :)

Kurt Angle will never fight in the UFC, and heres the reason why: Money. He currently is under contract with TNA Wrestling and makes approximately $550,000 per year with his contract base with plenty of incentives; plus, he also wrestles in New Japan Pro Wrestling and wrestling in Japan is huge. He's committed to wrestle throughout 2011 I believe, plus no offense to Angle but he would get mauled by plenty of fighters at 205 in the UFC. If he tried to go punch for punch against Chuck Liddell he'd be put to sleep in a big time hurry, Rampage would just annihilate him in all aspects, and a Forrest Griffin would pick him apart. I mean granted the guy is a legit Olympic Gold Medalist in freestyle wrestling I cant question his wrestling ability but in mixed martial arts, wrestling is just 1 of many aspects in the game. Plus Kurt Angle is in his 30's if I'm not mistaken and I don't see him as a Randy Couture type where he could just go in there and last as long as he has (10 plus years). Bottom line Kurt Angle will never fight in the UFC, nor will he be in mixed martial arts anytime soon.

And not to hijack the thread (or maybe I am :P), Shogun just signed a contract to fight Chuck Liddell in May!!! Thats gonna be a sick fight!

Kurt Angle is also 40 years old and has suffered a host of really serious injuries.

If he started training for MMA 10 years ago he could probably have been a force ... today, not so much.

For me this is a similar question to: "could Ronnie Coleman be a great strongman?"

Lets not forget there are rules to wrestling, in UFC you can hit each other when yours tangled up on the ground.

Yeah Tony this is a good point but I think theres a much better chance of Angle fighting in mma than coleman doing strongman.

I personally think that Angle could do it. He obviously keeps himself in good physical condition for wrestling.... I think he could turn it around and fight in theufc for a few years (depending on his success)

If you asked me a year ago, i would have said something like this would never happen. but with lesnar fighting now, all of the dream match ups against pride and ufc fighters, the patriots going 19-0 (it will happen) and Poundstone switching to WSM....... ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN

Oh yeah, I heard there was gonna be a UFC fight between Chuck Norris and everyone in the UFC! :EP: (too bad we don't have a roundhouse kick smiley, hahaha)

On a serious note, as the MMA sport grows more athletes from different genres seem to be wanting to get involved. I think its pretty cool, but I don't really watch MMA that much.

i heard this too, when brock first came to the wwe or something, don't know how much truth there is to it, but angle is the olympic gold medalist out of the 2.

i thought it was interesting to see angle at ringside & hendo & lindland just one seat away from him...i wonder if they were sharing olympic stories.

-as far a brock's wrestling ability he probably could have done well internationally--as a jr. Brock lost to Cal State bakersfields Stephen Neal by one point in the NCAA D1 championships--Neal was a senior-(was Neals second NCAA D1 championship)

Neal went on to become Freestyle World champion the very next year.
IMO, brock could have done well internationally also- but signed with WWE-
I don't recall Angle and lesnar Wrestling freestyle--they are from different eras.
IMO Angle is a bit long in the tooth to make the transition to MMA.Not too old to fight--just too old to learn all aspects of the sport and become a champion.

you Tube,Neal winning world Freestyle championship(2 years after beating Brock by one point in NCAA championships):

Neal now plays offensive guard for the Patriots.
For some reason the neal vs. Lesnar match has been taken down off of You Tube-?

I thought Brock would beat Frank--but good expereince for him-everyone loses in MMA--might as well get it out of the way---suprised he left that leg so vulnerable.
