We get a lot of posts from people looking for a place to train/people to train with. I think it would be a good idea to have a stickied reference thread for that purpose. What do you all think?

I think that is a great idea. Let me be the first to contribute. Anyone who lives in Northern Virginia, send a to PM Barry Perkins on the forum. He has stones, two yokes, farmers handles, two logs and a tire. He trains most Sundays at 1 pm and is willing to let people train with him.

I was going to recommend this in a few weeks, since I'll be starting an internship this spring that involves traveling all around the country.
I have seen websites where members can make "markers" on a map or something, anyone know anything about this?

Its pretty easy to make maps using the google maps and or the Microsoft Live Maps Api. I have only done it using Latitude & Longitude coordinates but it should be doable with addresses as well.

OK, I made it an open map, so anyone can edit it.
Instructions as I understand them...
Adding your location:
Search your address
Click Save to My Maps on the marker when you find it
Edit your location, try to include a phone number and email address
Make sure to save.
I only did it once with my address, so these might not be the best directions, but if you have a problem post your address here and I'll add you. I'll try to edit the directions as I get better at it, but it's my first time.
Hopefully this works.

Alternative Instructions...
Find your place on the map by searching or using the map navigation
Click on the thumbtac thing in the top left corner of the map (second icon)
Place it where it belongs
Edit the location to include contact info
Save

Not quite what I was going for. I wouldn't want to put all of my info out there for everybody to see. I'm thinking more along the line of "Hey we're in xxxx. We have xxxx to train with. We train on xxxx day. PM me for my info or w/ your info." etc.

All you need to put is your location. E-mail addresses are nice to be able to get in touch with people to find out more. Include whatever you want, or nothing at all.
