I seem to have suffered a injury to my back while deadlifting so I now have to cut it short. I will be off lifting for 1-2 weeks.

Anyways, when your back locked up during the squat, how long did it take for you to recover. Did you go to a chiropractor. What did you do during your recovery process.

Thanks bro. I really need some encouragement at this moment.

Is there any tingling or numbness in your legs? If so, forget the chiropractor and get to an orthopedic surgeon. If it's just pain in your back, rest, hot tubs, lots of walking, and slowly working your way back into deadlifts with SLDL's will help. If you're good to your back you can be right back where you started in a month.

The first thing you have to do is find out what kind of injury you have. If you have disc damage it's good to know to what extent the disc is torn or ruptured. I recently agrivated a facet joint which to me, at the time of injury, felt like disc pain but it wasn't.

When I hurt my back squatting last year I was already working with a sore back. Mine was a violent injury as a result from an acumulation of damage. It took me about 6 months to get back to full swing. I didn't deadlift all out for 1 year.

Back pain is the worst. It can really depress you. You have to be rational and know that it can and will get better as long as you take the proper steps towards recovery.

The best way to start rehab is by doing short, frequent walks throughout the day. You need to keep mobile so your back doesn't lock up.
