Get some Zymol carnuba polish. It's the best you can get IMHO. It's not cheap but will brings out a fantastic shine especially in black.

Isn't that stuff like $5,000 a tub? You'd have to be an oil TYCOON to afford to wax your car with that.

Nice car, but how much do you deadlift? I hope its less than me, otherwise you got a better car than me and your stronger. Maybe I should get rid of my girlfriend, she's taking all my money, then i'll be able to buy a cooler car.
Quick question: Whats better, a fast car or a pimped out car?

NICE car man, last time I looked those aren't all that expensive(relatively speaking) the insurance has to stink on that though:D
Call me cheap or old school, doesn't matter to me but I have a 71 Mach 1 Mustang and a 76 MG Midget. I'd like to see some of you guys fit in one of those tiny little things

Hah! I bought an 05 STI in the Summer of 2004. Before the warranty was up, I had the drivers seat replaced by my dealer 3 times! I didn't fit too well, but it was way fun to drive!
It was decked out! COBB stage 2, catless DP, Magnaflow, 18 psi boost HD sway bars, DUNLOP SPORT RACE (dot track tire), ladaladaldadladlaldalad.....
Now I drive the VIPER's BIG Brotha! The RAM SRT10! :mag: .....I have got it modded too! Your car rocks, have fun driving it!

You can pic up a clean gen 1 (like mine. 44k miles) for 29-33k or so. but you better have the cash because it is doubtful you will find financing on a 92-95 gen 1, to old. mine is a 95.
My insurance is not bad at all, perfect record, full coverage 500 deductible added only 41/mo to my policy.
Those ram srt10 trucks are nice. but I will run away from you fairly easily. my car has exhaust, intake, smooth tubes and some head work.

That's what I was thinking, I didn't think they were much more than 35k but I didn't want to throw a # out there:D That insurance isn't bad at all considering it's a VIPER.
Oh yeah, you'll run away from a Ram SRT10 for all those reasons AND the small issue of you weighing about 800lbs or so less

You could run by me above 60. But from a dig, I 'll beat you to 55. We've got two gen 2 vipers and one gen 3 viper, plus an 07 Z06 in my town. We all horse around together. None of them have beaten me to 55 :EL: , but once they catch me, they are gone. :disgust:

I own a '96 RT-10, modified to 550bhp :mag: I bought it in Cali but took it back to Scotland with me when I returned here. Here's a pic of it with some nice Scottish scenery in the background:

However, this happened to it in October:
http://mob183.photobucket.com/albums/x268/ViperScot/15102007.jpg
The moral of the story is, be careful in that car - it's a dangerous SOB!! Don't get me wrong, it's the most fun I've had on 4 wheels but no traction control and ABS (the latter why I hit the bridge!) combined with HUGE torque and super-wide rear tires equals a car that deserves much respect. I'm lucky to have escaped that accident with just whiplash! Have fun though.
Mine's getting rebuilt now but with supercharger fitted - I know that I should know better but 700bhp sounds so much fun :KD:

You can get the most expensive version of zymol for just over £7000 or $14,000 if you'd prefer. But you do get free refills for life!
The Zymol I use is about $100 a tub and well worth the money.

That is because most people who bought Vipers when they first came out did not know how to drive, so they end up putting it in the wall.
It has no Nanny aids at all, No ABS, No Traction control, No brake assist, No skid control, No airbags, no sissy aids at all.
I had my car sideways through 1st and 2nd today and my heart did not skip a beat, You just need to know what you are doing and what the car is going to do.
Now Vipers do have ABS but not much else to help ya out ha.

Dude, if you're heart didn't skip a beat putting your new pride and joy sideways then you must be on methadone!!
You can be the world's greatest driver and the snake will still bite you hard! I've been round many a race track in a lot of different cars; nothing prepares you for nearly 600 lbft through the rear wheels. With my Viper, losing it is a binary thing: nothing then gone, there is no warning (as in other cars I've driven) that it's going to let go!
Mind you, you're probably driving on nice warm and dry roads that the Viper was designed for. When I lost it, the air temp was about 5C, the road was damp, there was mud on the road (it was just outside the entrance to a farm) and the apex of the curve was on the brow of a hill. That equation equals a sliding snake that you're not going to correct! And I was driving sedately - it was a very slightly too hard poke on the brakes that resulted in the slide, not too much throttle. But I got my cheque for the total loss yesterday ~$41k and I get to keep the car which is repairable (and being repaired). Sweet!!!

No don't get me wrong, I felt excitement yes, but not that spike in your heart fear when you do not expect something, I put it into the slides, so I was expecting it.
Yrah, the roads were clean and dry, if I did loose it I would head over the small cliff to the ocean, good a place as any for a final resting.

I would not buy a car as an investment, but the Gen 1 Viper actually could be an investment if I let it sit in the garage lol.
It was made to pay homage to the Shelby Cobra, you know...the cars that cost a million dollars now lmao.

Some cars are a investment, and a good one. You just need to know when to buy it. As far as money pits....you have a point there!!

Cars are generally money pits but I made a profit off my Viper (sort of)! One of the reasons that I took it back to Scotland with me was not wanting to lose out on the crappy $:£ exchange rate by selling the car and taking cash back with me; taking hardware back seemed far more sensible. Plus, there are VERY few Vipers in the UK and cars generally are worth more there. So it cost me £1500 to get it shipped back to the UK and legalised. And now that it's been totalled ( :( ), the insurance company have given me £20500 plus I get to keep the car (which I'll be able to sell for another £11k). So I'll get around £31k for the car, minus the £1.5 to ship it over equals £29.5k or about $60k. I paid $41k for it 3 years ago. However, I did spend $10k on modifications so that balances things out a bit...
