I was suprised that no one said this before me.
I wasn't. I'm more surprised that anyone said anything at all. Nobody here likes him.
At least now the countdown to being a grumpy old man (as opposed to just a grumpy man) can begin in earnest.
Just in case someone is a bit dense, the above is an example of
sarcasm sar·casm \ˈsär-ˌka-zəm\ noun
Etymology: French or Late Latin; French sarcasme, from Late Latin sarcasmos, from Greek sarkasmos, from sarkazein to tear flesh, bite the lips in rage, sneer, from sark-, sarx flesh; probably akin to Avestan thwarəs- to cut
Date: 1550
1: a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain
2 a: a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual
b: the use or language of sarcasm

Thanks everyone. Actually Idris, you didn't mention it first - Matt Brouse sent me a PM wishing me a happy birthday, he lacked the testicular fortitude to post it here. Your's still means more because you weren't a pair of sandy panties like he was :-).
No birthday squats, but I did take a pretty respectable run with some 300lb farmers tonight.
You know, it used to be awesome to look 5 years older when I was 16 or so and didn't get carded for beer or clubs. Now it just sucks when I tell people "I'm 29-30" and they say "Oh, wow, I thought you were much older!". I'm proud to say I've not stabbed all of them - only the really old or weak ones.
This was kinda a bittersweet birthday for me. Many of you may know, but some of you might not... my dad died two fridays ago. I hate that I'll always remember my 30th birthday not for turning 30, but the events leading up to it. Regardless, I've enjoyed it. Got an iPod and a huge new whiteboard for the gym, as well as a couple really good homecooked meals from the lil' woman.

Sorry about the loss of your Dad. That is always a really sad event that everyone has to deal with at some point in their lives. Sorry yours came to early and so near to your birthday.

Defintely sorry to hear about your Pops. The whiteboard will add a nice touch to the focus in the gym. Goals and PR's staring you in the face everyday...
Also, I wasn't sure if it was today or yesterday because it was late nice PMing. Also, I'm in the North Dakota vortex.

Happy B'Day, Joshua.
Hopefully, you can reflect on your 30th as the "upswing" following the more tragic events.
Here's to you, and your father. I'm sure he'd be happy for you.
