any predictions on placings or what the times/numbers will be to beat. In the lw class im thinking 6 will win the axle and 700 on the dead stone will have to be like 7-8 with the freak Blake showing up.

Is there a competitor list?

I talked with Dan Ford last night at the gym, and he's competing in the HWs.

I'm excited to see the all the pros compete, especially Bakke in the HW's. Unfortunately I do not think I will compete, came down with the flu today and feel terrible. Not to mention the injury and aches and pains I have. I will still be there and cutting weight shouldn't be an issue now!!

My money is on Blake.

Anyone got a prediction on what it will take the HW's to win the DL? I'm shooting for 8 hundy and I know Dave (is he still in, I know he has a torn lat) and Bergmann are good for that as well. Brad "Wolverine" Dunn says he's shooting to smash 7+ reps on the axle!!!!!!!!! I think this show is gonna be a good one....

We are going to be at Disney this weekend, but I laid down the law and said "Woman who is in charge of everything important in my life I am going to ask your permission to go to the show and I hope that you won't make me sleep on the couch for doing so"

I am gonna say Marshall or Bergmann or Dave....dammit i cant commit!. Seeing 800 fall in the deadlift would be awesome! I am just really looking forward to seeing how the pros do it and getting rid of my "semi-pro" moniker placed on me by the AZ Crew.

Thought the LW guys would want to know, but Gertz is not able to compete. Bummer too, as he was at an all time high in strength doing some freaky stuff. Good luck to everyone going down there, it looks like a fun show.

Dane,
I know I am old and blind but where on there does it talk about the Florida show?
Also, is there a show going on in MN the same weekend?

Thanks for the old comment, just like the KC board brother. :)

I don't know why, I thought it was in Minneola, MN, geesh.
Eyes are going too.

That really sucks about Beau not being able to compete. I'd have picked him for one of the top spots.

Yeah Beau looked strong at LW Nationals in Philly...

Tom McClure was questionable to compete I believe? If he makes it out there I think he will be a factor and I would throw Brad Dunn in the mix as well after his performance in SC. Look for a battle between Marshall White, Bakke, Dunn, McClure, Bergmann, and potentially even some others who have been training hard.

I'll be there helping spot / load / etc. along with Beers so if anyone needs anything just let us know. Will have a car there as well so can drive people around (but HW's have to provide extra gas money for oversize cargo).

Dave, I thought Tom was training for the IFL fight this month at Mohegan? When is that suppose to take place?

Thanks JBlake and Tom for the vote of confidence. I am definitely ready and excited about this weekend.
After much deep thought concerning a prediction for this competition, I believe Marshall White will take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, leaving the rest of us to fight over whatever scraps he leaves behind!!!
Love ya' M-Dub (roomy)!
I think this one will go down to the wire in both classes and be one of the more exciting finishes in recent memory. I just hope I'm in the mix at the end. I see Marshall, Bergmann, and McClure being real strong throughout and Bakke putting in a great performance as well. Or perhaps a handsome Canadian competitor will show up prepared for the task at hand.... with frosted hair! :xo:

No, no IFL for me. I guess I got a little too excited about the whole thing. The team Mgr wants me to work my way through the amateur ladder or whatever you want to call it. I will be 33 this yr., I don't have time to play amateur fighter for trophies. I wanted to fight w the pros and try to make some money. He didn't think I should just jump in there w pros. He said I should take some amateur fights and see if I can just walk right through them. I told him when I started training there that I wanted to get in there w the big boys as soon as I got in shape. Whatever, I realized that I can't do both anyway. I will try to make an impact in the strongman sport. I was slacking for about 10 weeks, and my strength went down quite a bit, but I figure I have to at least try to qualify for Nationals. Otherwise, what shows would I do? I'd really like to do the team contest in Ukraine this yr and try to help the americans go for the gold! To make a long story short, I will be in Fl, hopefully I qualify. Good luck everybody, see you all soon!
