SO here is the new thread. Here are the rules from what I saw on the other thread.
1. 315 OHP with a BB.
2.No double knee bend.
3. From the rack.
4. wraps and belt oK.
5. Vid/picture of it.
Someone else should start one for a log, axle, c & p, or any other over head stuff.
So I am in. I am at 275 ish right now.
PS. To keep this thread clean, just put you are in and were you are at now. If you think we need to add more rules PM me, I will add it.

260 BB from rack. I'm definatley gonna bust my balls on this one as I've complained about my overhead for some time but have had little motivation to do a whole lot about it.

Why jerk it when all you have to do is man up and push it...real good.

:IMHO: 315 locked out overhead is a good lift no matter how you get it up there .....

i'm not gonna start a debate, but pressing and jerking are two different things...but yes, 315 is a great overhead lift...400 is sick

You're right. But in a contest locked out is locked out, no matter how the bar gets there.

you are absolutely right. I've done power jerks on a viking press because it was more efficient for me.
with that said, i'm down for this board race. not sure what my max push press is now, it was 275 8 months ago when i was 235, now i'm 208 and can probably hit 235-245.

1. Mick- who is aging themselves now??? Salt-n-Pepa???? Yeah baby...... :mag:
2. Re: the jerk debate.
Everyone KNOWS there are only two types of guys: those that jerk, and those that lie about it!!! :M:

to me, its all about getting the bar over my head. When i do overhead, i try not to dip but when i start getting to heavier weight, i will dip just to get the lift...
But i make adaptations as well. For example, I have a contest coming up with a viking press (no rebend allowed) so i have been putting in the work on the viking press w. out double knee bending.

sorry im a little confused. Is this a push press, or a strict press. I am assuming this is standing.
Well if this is a push press then I am in. My Best is 295.

I thought the idea behind a new thread was to stop all the debate. :BB: I was trying to just have a clean tread with out all the jabbing back and forth. That is what the other thread was for.

that was a nice lift Dana... I always rest the bar on the front of my shoulders, I cant hold it up the 2-3 inchs like that.
I wanted to be in this but when I go that heavy, i double knee bend. ANthing to get the bar locked out. Might go for 300 tomorrow but im not sure. Ive been mainly focusing on the viking press lately.

Good for you
hahaha
Dana - just something I'm seeing... It seems like after your triple extension and the power starts going to the bar, you seem like you are staying up on your toes or something. What do you think about slamming the heels down after the triple extend and give yourself a good solid base to lockout on? I think the smooshy tennis shoes might not be helping. Just something that jumped out at me.
Nice press. You've got the power for 315 for sure.

I do tend to stay on my toes some when I am strugling to lock out. I try not to but realy have to think about BEFORE the lift not to do it. As you can tell I did not in this lift.
As for the shoes, i have never tried anything elese. I need to.

This is not the best example, I wish I could find the one of his axle press, but after the extension he smacks his heels down and he is so rigid that he almost bounces. Anyway...
Still a good press. Just throwing that out there.
