One of the videos i force the kids to watch from time to time--thought some of you might enjoy it.
A good story.
Schmitt went from a d3 school,Wisconsin-River Falls and walked on to a d1 school(WV)--ended up as the starting fullback.
this year--he was drafted in the 5th round by Seattle-163rd overall--has a good chance of making the team at fullback.
As this is a strength forum I'll mention that There is/was some controversy and talk about his 'hang clean'record of 525 at West Virginia--it was explained to me that he actually hit 7 or 8 reps at 405 or 415 from the hang position and his strength coach used the Epley formula for that number--which is(assuming it's correct)still,IMO,a huge accomplishment/feat of strength-
As it was explained to me,His strength coach 'called'the 525 record--not owen.Kids usually don't pay attention to rep/max formulas.
