Just wondering whether anyone knows whether this years Derek Poundstone Show (aka Fortissimus) will ever be released on DVD?

I understand your joke, however, I think it's done in very bad taste. " The Derek Poundstone show " ? What about the other athletes that busted their butts in that show ? I like Derek just as much as the next guy but come on. " The Derek Poundstone show " ?? Derek won THAT day ... doesn't mean he'll win everytime he does that show. I call it Fortissimus ... and nothing else. If I was a Fortissimus athlete reading your post I'd be very offended. Just my 2 cents. Btw, I apologize if it seems as if i'm " going off " ... I just found this post be a bit offensive to the other athletes. Thank you.

Well, sorry for the joke in bad taste! Still didn't answer my question though, you just went off on a tirade! Probably shouldn't call the Arnold the "Zydrunas Show", but it probably fits! Yeah, there were alot of incredible athletes there. The best the world has to offer. Tremendous performances were put in by each and every one of them over the course of a brutal 2 day event! Congratulations are in order to each one just for being invited, let alone surviving! But if you don't like a joke in strongman then find a different sport. And obviously you weren't a Fortissimus athlete so don't put words in other people's mouths saying that if you were you would be offended. How do you know, you aren't one of them!

So, back to my original question. Does anyone know if a DVD of (politically correct) FORTISSIMUS competition will be available? (for those of you this offends, I apologize in advance. You don't have to get on here off topic and tell me that it offends you, I already know. Spandex and Britney Spears music in a gym offends me, but I don't get bent out of shape, I just keep my mouth shut and lift!)

Yeah I think Mr Stevens was a little sensitive in his remarks.

Yeah, I didn't answer your question. I apologize for that. To answer your question though ... I'm not sure whether or not there's a DVD coming out, however, I'd be one of the first ( next to you I'm sure ) to buy it. Now as far as calling the Arnold the " Zydrunas Show " ... yeah, it does fit, however, I'd ( personally ) never say it on a board. Maybe to a friend or something. It's just the way I ( and I did use the word " I " ) show respect to people. Oh, well. We agree to disagree. I'm certainly not looking for a fight, Mr. Cummings.

I love Strongman. Nothing better in my opinion. I love to laugh as well ... when something's funny. Your a comedian as well as strongman chairman ... I'm impressed. :)

I wasn't aware that I needed to be. I was only placing myself in their shoes ... oops !

Obviously, this is directed towards me. It seems I'm not the only one who's sensitive. And why not " get bent out of shape " a little. Why go through your workout and listen to music you don't like ? Obviously the spandex can't be helped ... I hate spandex as well. At any rate, I apologize to you Mr. Cummings for going off on my little tirade. Next time I'll shut up and not voice my opinion. Have a good day.

I doubt a DVD will be put out, although that would be cool...

As far as the sensitivity goes:

Let's leave high levels of sensitivity to our women, for this is good when they counter balance us. Let us go lift heavy; striving to be strong. We can seek out sensitivity from them when we are sore and beat up after working out. :)

Well put Jay! Agree to disagree Mr Stevens. Apology accepted and extended to you. As far as what I said about you not being a Fortissimus athlete, I merely meant that I try not to put myself in someone elses shoes when it comes to supposing what they would or would not feel. Again, I apologize if my remarks offended you.

Back to the discussion. I guess it Jay is right, though I sincerely hope he is not, then one of the greatest comps in the world was not professionally filmed! How tragic! Hopefully we're wrong and they did film it and they are merely holding on to it so we can all get it for Christmas!

If you watch some of the videos Poundstone put up, you can see it being professionally filmed.

Jay see this thread about Fortissimus 2009, http://www.marunde-muscle.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12914
At the bottom of the quote of the first entry it states:

“- FORTISSIMUS WORLD STRENGTH will remain a non-profit organization. As from August 1st, 2008, it will overseer FORTISSIMUS 2009, FORTISSIMUS CANADA, FORTISSIMUS MULTI MEDIA and FORTISSIMUS HALL OF FAME.”

I bolded the important part, sounds like DVD producing company to me?

To make things simple and clear: yes, there will be a DVD featuring the best of FORTISSIMUS 2008.

And, no, FORTISSIMUS is not a producer. It is and will remain a non-profit organization.

The monies of any nature, I am not saying the profits, will be immediately put in the Strongman's fund, thus allowing us to increase the 2009 competition's prize money.

Thanks for the clarification Paul and Congratulations on putting on a world class show.
