One of my idoles. Unbelievable intensity.
If that's a new world (12th July) record then I guess all the others were not valid.

Great lift but it is pretty bad when you can't even put on your own wrist wraps.

Clue me in, why, if he could, wouldn't he?

Not to lose energy. And because another guy, with two hands, can do it better. Not that I support gear or anything though.

You are right. A lot of guys actually do this. The knees are more often seen having someone else do it for them though.

He came out of the hole fast on that! Wow! I've never seen a bench shirt in person, are they all open in the back like that? Just a curiosity question having never seen one.

I seen this in person Saturday night I was at the very front of the stage when he smoked it up! Shirt or no it was impressive! Rob Luyando also put 947 lbs. ( I don't know the Kg conversion) after missing his first two attempts!
As a side not Ryan was really gracious when my boy Robbie asked for a picture with. He spent a little time talking to him even though he was totally wiped out.

No, they have closed and open back shirts. Some open back shirts have velcro to "close" them, but they are still open back. Some federations only allow closed back (USAPL/IPF). I will bring some shirts to your house one day so you can check them out. I don't have any that would fit you though.

I'm not even sure that my rack could support that weight. I know that if it didn't break then it would come close to it. Its amazing that a human could support that kind of weight in that position.

just weird and awesome that the world record benchpress is heavier then the world record deadlift...
So could it be that the chest, shoulders, triceps, lats are able to push more weight then your entire posterior chain with a deadlift? Or is it because the bench shirts or much more efficient to assist the lift then a deadlift suit..?
Please, because i don´t understand how a human body can press 487kg off his chest....

That is impressive!!!!
But is does show the increasing gap between assisted and raw lifts. I believe the raw record is 715lbs which would make the difference nearly 360lbs. But let me again state that I am very impressed with the lift.

You also have to consider the incentives for each type. With assisted lifting there is more $ and its safe on the joints.
If you listened to the radio interview, Kennelly said he would be willing to go for it if someone put up the money. So all we need now is for someone to make it worth his while to spend his time training for the raw record.

Obviously Mendy Kennelly and Rychlak could all beat that raw record now if the money was put there. But I would root for Ryan :BP:
