did anyone watch this? it was a great show. i missed the belfort/martin fight because fsn in my area was showing baseball instead, but it looked like a nice ko for belfort. (they showed clips of it during the ppv).
barnett actually ko'ed rizzo, i did not expect that at all, he put him to sleep. i thought barnett would win via sub. wow.
arlovski looked in great form, real exciting fight with rothwell. rothwell is a tough dude, he took quite a beating but hung in there until he dropped in the 3rd.
fedor destroyed sylvia, hit him hard on the feet , dropping tim & then taking his back & won via choke. it was over in less than a minute. fedor's strikes are unbelievably fast.
babalu had a good fight too, he looked good & really took over in the third, won unanimous decision, as did lindland who was dominant except for when he took an eye gouge in the second, but that was it.
i hope their next card is as stacked as this was.

What was FSN showing last night? I saw it on it said "Affliction: Banned" but I figured they weren't showing anything but maybe fight hype.

They showed the undercard fights for free. The "main event" undercard fight was supposed to be Aleksander Emelianenko VS Paul Buentello but Aleks couldn't get clearance from CSAC for some reason. I haven't read as to why just yet, although I have a hunch it has something to do with his criminal record. Gary Goodridge fought in his place instead.
Fedor is one bad dude. I was thinking that Couture would be a tough fight for him but after seeing Fedor absolutely out class Sylvia like that, I'm not so sure anymore. Hopefully it'll get put together soon.

That video might well be taken down in no time flat. T
However, talk about outclassed. Randy is gonna get hurt.

After Sylvia got destroyed, Randy got in the ring with Fedor and talked about a possible fight. I know nothing further. Randy is really keen to fight Fedor as he sees him as the best ever.

Fedor is apparently on a 3 fight contract between now and the end of the year, I would expect a Couture bout in December, but I'm hardly the expert.

Fedor's balance is amazing. He finishes the job very quickly once he has an opponent damaged. Some may say he is not very big or imposing, but I would be willing to bet that his core strngth (hips, abdomen, low back) is off the charts freakishly strong.

Apparently Buentello confirmed that it was Hep C...which is not surprising seeign all of his tats...If it was his criminal record, it would be a visa problem, but Aleks has been in the States several times, fought in Canada, and was in attendance at the fights.

I believe the rumor is Hep B, not C, which means it can go away

Good point, only reason I mentioned the criminal record is because I've read it's been a hurdle in the past. Let's hope the younger Emelianenko finds his way on an Affliction card as well soon, when focused he is a beast as well. He might have the fastest hands at HW.

This was the greatest card ever put together for a fight, the undercard was better than any card ever put together by the UFC. I expected Fedor to win with ease but this was simply unbelievable. I can't see Randy standing much of a chance against him.

Longtime PRIDE heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko (28-1) and former UFC heavyweight title-holder Andrei Arlovski (13-5) -- the biggest winners and clear-cut fan favorites at this past weekend's "Affliction: Banned" event -- will headline the rookie organization's next show on Oct. 11.
Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports was the first to confirm the date and heavyweight main event.
As we previously reported, a Nov. 8 date and Atlantic City location had been under consideration, but instead, Affliction will head to Las Vegas for a show at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus.
Formal announcement of the show is expected on Tuesday, according to Yahoo! Sports.
During this past weekend's event, Atencio never tipped his hand about a possible trip to Las Vegas when asked about a second event.
"When? The beginning of November," Atencio said. "Where? We haven't finalized that yet. We're still looking at a couple different locations."
It'll now be Las Vegas, which is home to the world's top mixed-martial-arts promotion, the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Affliction debuted July 19 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., with "Banned," an event that drew 14,832 attendees for a live gate of $2.1 million (though Affliction purchased $500,000 worth of the tickets).
On Wednesday, Affliction Vice President Tom Atencio told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that the debut event garnered "well over" 100,000 pay-per-view buys, which if true, would be a major accomplishment for a non-UFC promotion.
However, given a hefty fighter payroll of more than $3.3 million, Atencio said things will be toned down for the second show.
"I'm going to make some adjustments in the next fight, and we'll take it from there," Atencio said. "If we want this to be a viable business, we have to make some changes."
At "Banned" Emelianenko scored his biggest win in three years with a 36-second drubbing of Tim Sylvia. Arlovski, meanwhile, needed nearly three rounds to score a stunning KO a resilient Ben Rothwell.
