Contest takes place next weekend or so I believe. American Team consists
of :
Travis Ortmayer (replaced Van Hatfield)
Jason Kristal
?
?
Van Hatfield is injured. Anyone know who replaced Bergmann and Best?
Vasyl Virastyuk should be making his comeback in this contest also.

Garrick,
Has Vasyl been down with the back injury all year? Is he trying to get back to the WSM TV Show? Being a former champion he may have a better chance than the rest of the guys muddling through all the politics.

Disk problems had him out. As far as what I know, the WSM people are in talks with the Champions League people to try to figure out what to do. I don't know anything other then that. I hope that Vasyl and everyone can get in as that would unify the World title again.
I mean, if Zydrunas, Vasyl, and Mariusz were all at the WSM this year...and Mariusz is going for a 5th title... just imagine the tension and excitement in the air. WSM people would have maybe the most popular WSM ever on their hands.
Nobody has been able to get those three together in a contest for 2 years now.

Good luck to all. That is a strong group of pressers for sure. As far as I know Travis is the only one with international team experience, so hopefully he will be able to impart some knowledge on the rookies.
Also though, Nick Brugal and I(and Barbaras) were on an Amateur team a few years ago.

I tell you what, if all five are fighting fit again, that's a heck of a team. This is the first comp. I've seen for ages that Mark Felix hasn't been in though...

Heard he tweaked his bicep at the Highlander Challege this past weekend in Scotland. Had to pull out of the comp. So we'll probably see him in 2 weeks or so competing again right? :D

Basically the situation is such that so few athletes wanted or were able to do this show this year that they have had to "kick down" the spots and even use someone that wasn't even at ASM. I believe Kristal originally wasn't able to go then was after the spot was already filled? Not sure.

John Conner - Hell yeah. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do with some international competition.
