Does anyone know what events will be coming up before April in the Northwest? I would like to know, especially if they are sanctioned. It's hard to drive 10+ hours with four kids in the car, looking for competitions closer to home. The NASS website shows nothing currently, and I haven't found anything on any other websites.
Thanks,

Jay,
Check out northweststrongman.com or link to it off Julie Havelka'site.
They have an unsanctioned contest in Grants Pass OR, in April I think.
The Northwest seems to be a hotbed for strongman, so there might be more contests coming up????
Good luck

Sarge and I are in the planning stage still, so we aren't announcing any official times yet, but we are planning 2 or 3 shows in 2006 in sequim, and hopefully we will be helping to run one in port townsend, one in seattle, and one in woodinville. At any rate, 2006 will be a great year for strongman in the northwest!

The 3rd Oregon's Strongest Beaver is also planning to be back, after a 2 year hiatus(Baby daugher being born!)...it will be held probably in October 2006 on the campus of Oregon State University. We are currently in contact via email with the school for the past month, and are trying to decide what weekend of October this will be held.
We used to have it during "Dad's Weekend", but next year's Dad's weekend is on Oct 28th 2006, which is a little too late for my liking (weather). Dad's weekend is held in conjunction with a home football game for the Beavers, so we try to have it before the game while everyone is tailgating. Fun times, including a Beer Garden nearby where you can watch the show!
Mr. Jesse Marunde has had the HONOR of holding this distinguished title on his resume TWICE! I think its up there with his WSM appearances... :M:
2002
Jesse Marunde 1st place
Jon Andersen 2nd place
Corey St. Clair 3rd place
2003
Jesse Marunde 1st place
Van Hatfield 2nd place
Corey St. Clair 3rd place
Keep you posted...

Cool! Sequim is about 9 hours away, and Corvallis is about 7 hours away from my area in Boise. I'm sure you guys will let us know the details as things get closer.

I'm assuming that's a Pro-Am due to the pros competing there last time. I'd miss my wedding to be at this show. I'll BE THERE. Oh and those guys are GOING DOWN!

Yeah, its going to be an Open contest...non-sanctioned. We can't do weight classes, cause they will take too long. Have to be done within 3 hours so that we catch the tailgating crowd before the football game.
I think its a great opportunity for some guys to against the some good Pros, and show what they got to the crowd. Keep you posted on details...

What makes me angry is there is going to be this great strongman contest only 30 miles from my house and at the time they are putting it on am already going to be in so-cal for collage! And i really want to meet up with you guys at some point when there is oxygen in my brain,(unlike after a contest, when i am gasping for air) :EP:

Grant,
How have you been? I am back from Massachusetts I did not do so well in the Paxton strongman contest I had not worked out in a little over a month. Anyway when and where is this open event I would love to enter it. As of now I am working on dropping my bodyfat and working on my endurance.
I wanted to know how many (if any ) of the other strongman you train at your warehouse bring their kids?

Idaho should have some this year. You know Van Hatfield has his in June right?? It's in Orem, Utah about 1 hour south of Salt Lake City. In fact the first 20 or 30 to register get 2 free nights at the hotel I believe. Any questions I have the forms and links etc I can PM them to you.
