I have a friend that works out at my gym who has been a writer for Flex for many years. He asked me tonight what I would want to read about or be interested in concerning strongman. He said they are going to probably start writing about more strongman related topics and such. I told him about the things I would be interested in and that I would ask all of you what you would be interested in reading about (certain types of training, nutrition, meets, etc.). I guess they will be interviewing/writing about some of the top strongmen, obviously not guys like most of us. Just throwing this out there for whoever want s to respond, thanks.
p.s. Jesse, if you read this, the writer is the older gentleman I introduced you to at the Olympia Expo. I don't know if you will remember me or him.

DJ-
I currently don't read Flex, or any of those "other" magazines. If they start placing articles about strongman in the magazine, I might.
Things that would be a curiosity to me:
Sucessful strongman training programs, and not so sucessful (do's and don'ts.)
Well documented layouts of events that take place in the US and other countries.
Complete listings of all upcoming events everywhere.
Cool pics of strongman events.
Only articles that are honest and true.
Things I wouldn't want to see:
Exhagerated claims and falicies in articles.
Sex sells junk (I wouldn't want to see any of our "fat" compatriate strongmen in g-strings.)
Strongmen saying they got strong and huge off of the latest craze supplement.

Good luck excluding any of that from any magazine these days!

D.J., I remember him perfectly. You introduced him as a Flex writer. I wish I had talked with him more regarding writing strongman articles. I have a hard time imagining Flex featuring strongman to be honest. Seems totally outside of their norm. But I certainly think it would be awesome. The only way in the world I'm buying a publication other than www.ironmind.com (http://www.ironmind.com/) 's MILO journals is if it has strongman or mixed martial arts in it. I love the idea.

John Beatty's Strong! Magazine (http://www.strongmagz.com/welcome.html) is supposed to be coming out in January. All strongman, all the time.

Ironman has covered events and a few athletes.Thats the only reason Ive ever bought ironman. If flex covered events and had interviews with the competitiors on a normal basis,I would buy it.
