What do you people think about the WSM-qualification system with separed groups and diffenrent events.
I think itīs unfair - the groups are "drawed" and then itīs not fair that the events are the same for everybody...if you good squatter and bad deadlifter you propably get DL group etc.
I think it suppose to be the way that all 30 does the same events and then they get points from 0-30 and top 10 with highest total points goes to final.
Ofcourse itīs not so good in tv, but maybe they should do it in groups and put the results together and then it wouldnīt be sertain that top2 from each group gets to the final..
What is your opinion?

Both methods have their benefits. The benefit to the groupings as they are now is that if you have a poor event, it doesn't automatically mean you're out, as the most you could lose is 5 points. In a field of 30, taking a zero on an event (as would have happened if Mariusz were human and sat out the truck pull, as was talked about) is tantamount to withdrawing.

I like the groupings but I do believe they should all be doing the same events.

i'm not a fan of the groupings because you will never see a stacked group....ie Derek, Mariuz, Travis, etc... in the same group.
there has to be some better way of doing it.....maybe some sort of ranking or seeding system.

Sure you will...it's called the finals.

Why would we want to see a group with those guys? They would be all beat up before they even got to the finals.

That seems stupid to me. If you had a group with those 3 in it and only 2 advanced to finals, then one of the best competitors in the field would be eliminated before finals, which is when you're supposed to see a stacked group.

That is the point I'm trying to make. If certain guys are expected to be there why even do qualifing rounds

it's fine the way it is.
Just like you can go to a contest and have an event changed, you need to be prepared for each event. You don't hear any of the athletes complaining about it.
That's why they're in a show called, "world's strongest man", because their strength is so versatile. Not only that, but it would make the program that airs on TV boring to watch for the normal person if you have 6 30minute episodes with the same events each time.
The only thing i would change is to make the show heavier.

Because EXPECTATIONS can be wrong. You suggest a "ranking or seeding", but that is in essence what is going on.
