This Sunday, September 14 would be Jesse's 29th birthday. I'm sure if he were still hanging out with us he would be kicking rear at WSM right now!
Please take a minute to remember him. Post some memories and pics you may have of him; as a strongman, friend, brother, son, etc... No matter who you are, post something nice if you feel led.
I'll leave you with this; Jesse was a great guy, no one can deny it! As a tribute, read this link to one of his posts and make a contribution if you feel led to, in memory of him and in support of Callie!

Though I never met him, this is his website and it has brought us all together to allow us to converse about both strongman and life in general. He paved the path for alot of us as strongmen and as good men.

I would like to remember Jesse as a great strongman, a great Christian, and a great man in general. He may have left this earth early, but he left a great legacy. I am sure if he were still alive he would be right there in the finals of WSM this year, fighting it out with the rest of the great men that are there right now. I also continue to pray for his family that God may continue to bless them.

I met Jesse a couple of years ago at the Arnold. What a cool guy to talk to. I have a quote of his on my fridge that keeps me motivated to eat clean and train harder.

Jesse was my convincing factor that I switched from bodybuilding to strongman!! Great motivation and he brought us all this forum which has brought everyone together, made some amazing friends and training partners, and the sport has grown tremendously as a result of many attributes in this sport that he is solely responsible for!!!

I was always a fan of Jesse's. Being into strength training since I was in middle school, I'd always been aware of Strongman and followed it and watched the ESPN show and all. Jesse was my age (a couple months younger, actually) and I remember him competing at a world class level as a 19-20 year old and being impressed by that. I always followed his career and ran his name through Google one time and came across this site right around the time it first got up and running.
What impressed me the most about Jesse was that he treated everyone, no matter who they were or what they did, with respect. He really epitomized that old saying "do unto others . . ."
I was saddened to hear of his death. I lost my father when I was 7, so really felt for his children and keep them in my prayers.
It is also unfortunate for the sport. As a fan, I was looking forward to seeing how far Jesse could go with two cleaned-up, healthy knees as he approached the peak ages for a strength athlete.
This has always been a board for reliable, well-posted info. and it has stayed true to the way Jesse wanted it to be.

I always remember Jesse having a smile on his face. My hope is that he has a great seat to watch the finals today.
