So what had happened was.........I bought tacky.........I slathered said tacky all over my arms..........then without thinking ahead of time (the usual case with me getting overly excited by getting new toys in the mail) is how do you get the stuff off. So having a buddy drive me to walmart I proceeded to buy EVERYTHING that potentially could get it off, I found the best thing for it was actually GOO GONE. The petroleum in it breaks down and lubricates the tacky so that it can't bond to itself, therefore, no longer sticky. Good stuff.

Has anyone else found anything they find works really well for getting it off?

Pam cooking spray - I'm not keen on soaking myself in WD-40.

Anything with petroleum distillates will work good. NAPA auto parts stores sells their own hand cleaner that (petroleum distillate base) works better than anything I've seen mentioned so far. GOJO also makes a petroleum distillate grease remover for cleaning your hands that works good as well. However, make sure you don't just buy the normal GOJO pumice - that will not even make the tacky budge.

I've used all kinds of stuff (baby oil, gojo, wd40, cooking spray, etc) and for my money, you can't beat mineral spirits. Just rub it on and the tacky comes right off, just rinse. Very little scrubbing (which is handy when you have torn all the skin off your arms) and no sting (ditto). It also doesn't smell.

We use everything from canola oil, to sunflower oil, to baby oil, to WD-40. It all works in one way or another.

I find any cooking oil or baby oil works really well. Use an old t-shirt to dry yourself with afterwards. It works better that towelling.

Spray it on, let it sit, wipe the tacky right off. You can get it at DTEP.com ina gallon juf for less than 40 bucks. It's non-toxic and safe for the skin. A little OT, but my training partner tore his left bicep and just had surgery last friday before last. He put a 225 lb stone over a 42" bar with one arm today, it was cool as hell. Train hard, boys.

If Matt grew a second head, he'd just eat it.

I like baby oil, its good for the skin doesn't burn, you can buy a small bottle for the ol gym bag, you don't need as much to get it off and its cheaper than de-solv-it and all that other stuff :B:
(plus I happened to have some on hand and did't have to buy any so yay) I also stole some orangey-goo-off stuff from work too I higly suggest that :N:

WD-40 or battery acid works great
That explains so much :BB:

Goo-Gone user here myself. Just the smell of it and I think stones! It does burn just a bit when you've got open stone rash, but it does that job.

Not sure if I'll be taking your advice on 'battery acid' anytime soon

My vote is for Goo-Gone, especially the spray gel kind.
