just wondering if any of you's guys take part in any other sports besides strongman and power lifting. i for example play semi pro football for eight years now, winning several league titles along with several national title runner ups and one national title.
i think athleticism involved with strongman translates well into my alter ego as an offensive linemen. difference between a 330 stone and a 330 lbs. d linemen is that the d linemen will often times buy you a beer after kicking his ass all day.

I used to, but haven't lately. One of the guys we train with plays rugby a lot, and one of our peripheral members does MMA.

I wrestle as a 215 and heavyweight weighing 205-210lbs... I love the strength strongman has brought me.

I just started doing Highland Games.
Edit: I do also competitive eating contests and am ranked #50 in the world by the International Federation of Competitive Eating (if that sounds good, I have to temper it by admitting they only rank to #50, so I am the lowest ranked of the ranked eaters).

I'm pretty much the worst natural athlete ever. I do play a bit of soccer with my friends though.

RRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGBBBBBBBBBBBYYYYYYYYYY!! !!!
When I'm out to sea for longer periods of time I will throw down with the little MMA group on board about once a week, I did jujitsu growing up so I give them a workover and it builds my conditioning as well. (some of those guys are really building up some talent one of them we call Mr. Fantastic because his joints are like rubber and there isn't much you can do other than choke him out to get him to tap)

I played soccer for 12 years. Played some tennis in my younger years. Trying to learn golf these days. I am finding golf and SM don't mix too well.

I play rugby currently in the spring and fall and I also use strongman as an excuse for why I suck at golf.

I never really did more than one sport at a time, but I have participated in a few different ones. I played football and basketball in school. I started powerlifting when I was 19 and competed fairly regular until I was about 33 at which time I played one year of semi-pro football before starting to train for strongman. I also dabled a little in small time pro wrestling a few years ago, if that counts as a sport.

not doing anythng but strongman at the moment but i've been thinking about playing some semi-pro football . I miss the sport, the smell of the grass, the three point stance, the running, the hits, all of it .

Was big into skateboarding for around 15 years, might just be tempted to get back on a ramp again in the near future as I'm getting the urge again after a decade layoff from doing anything more than rolling around my warehouse at night.

Used to be one heck of a swimmer. Will never be one again, thanks to the nerve damage. I just don't have enough juice in my nerves to swim more than a couple of laps.
I was a mediocre tennis player for years whose big serve and fast feet somewhat made up for my total preternatural lack of talent.
Dabbled in rowing for a while.
I miss swimming a ton, and would like to row again but the whole having to be at the hospital about when crews hit the water makes that hard.

I had a lot of fun, but you can't make any money unless you really hit the big time, and I decided that if I was going to do something as a hobby, it was going to be something that I could actually COMPETE at, and not just a show. It was pretty cool for a while though. My tag team partner and I had about 500 people throwing stuff at us down in Georgia one night. It's way more fun to be the bad guys :)

Count me in...track and field (100M, 200M, and long jump) football and basketball in college. Now that I train strongman, I would put money on it that I would be better than previously.

I still do this from time to time, but at 290 (as I am here) things hurt more when I land.

Woah, thats quite scary, and impressive. I do a bit of capoeira once a week or so. Not quite up to your level of kicking though. It's a lot of fun and gets the cardio going good.
