That is a great article. I have to make sure Derek reads that. He was just talking about the same subject to a guy on Sunday. You have to be just as mentally strong as physically to put your body through the training it needs to be on the top. Very interesting stuff!
Derek be sure to read it!!! :xo:

the mental toughness..and readiness ..is huge...
you see alot of young guys put up some great PR's...in training..amazing numbers...in training..
but come game day..they get over zealous..or lose focus..or focus too much and get too amped up...and totally don't "show up" the day of the contest.
you so have to have your mind ready for the contest and not too over anxious....
great article.

im not much of aa huff and puff kind of guy, ilike to approach an event calmly, reminding myself that i did all the preperation i could, i'm ready to go and i put myself in a position to win this thing with all the hard work i did, then slowly get the blood boiling a little and BOOM! off you go.

I chose psychiatry because I felt the mental toughness aspect of recuperation from physical illness is being ignored. I am where I am, defying every medical prediction about me or anyone with similar ailments, because I was tough enough mentally to hit the gym and hit it hard and to keep going no matter what happened to me.
I manage to fake being normal and hope to someday manage to fake being a strength athlete because of how I push myself in the gym. But the limiting factor on what I do in the gym isn't my body but my mind.
