I think I'm officially a grown up. My mom asked me for gift ideas and I had no idea what to tell her. Part of this is that I've spent way too much money this year and just bought everything I wanted when I wanted it, but part of it is that I just haven't thought of it because I prefer coming up with great things to give.

Still, I thought it'd be a good idea to put gift ideas in here, either for ourselves or for parents/younger siblings/relatives. One person's gift ideas could inspire five others, maybe.

Right now I'm just going through Amazon to pick out a bunch of books. I'm trying to learn some of the things I never did in college because I had too easy a major... Economics, etc. I'd love to get some lighter reading too, sports or strength related. Are there any really good books that have stood the test of time? Like a strongman reading list?

What about clothes for strongmen? I know I've seen a thread on here about jeans for the bigger guys, but that was mostly for heavies. What about LW guys. Is there a particular brand of jeans or a suit maker that works for small-waisted muscular people without extensive tailoring?

And of course any fun tools, toys, etc. Would love to hear what's on your wish list or what ideas you have for others.

Ironmind is a great place to look. Last year I gave my brothers Captains of Crush #2 and #3 (they got #1 for a birthday or something) and they gave me a Rolling Thunder.

Book: "Dinosaur Training"

Clothes: I know that the store The Buckle tailors jeans for free. All their stuff is a little more expensive than you'd find in a department store though.

Hope that helps.

I bought Nintendo Wii for my gf, and her and the baby love it..Gave it early so they can get games for Christmas...I don't think anyone wouldn't love this system...and the game Mario Kart.

Other than that Im pretty boring, I usually go with the safe bet of gift cards...

I don't know what I want, maybe ill see it in this thread?!

What our extended family has decided is that for Christmas, rather than everyone spending money they don't have to buy each other things that they don't want, we get presents for the kids (defined as younger than teenagers) and just enjoy a family get-together. We do the same with a groups of friends we used to exchange gifts with. This was in part a response to not only having to spend time and money trying to buy stuff that we think they might want, but also having to return stuff after Christmas that made us wonder if they knew us at all. We enjoy the company more than we would have the gifts.

My family does the same thing. We've been doing this for a while now. For Christmas, I would like to get some new Rehband sleeves, my current ones are getting flimsy and worn down. My GF prolly has no idea where to get those so i'll tell her to get me some whey protein, I keep back-up containers over her house, so she should know what they look like .

What am I going to get ppl for Christmas? Good question. I think i'll just play it safe like Wesley and get some gift cards.
