Yes, I did...I killed the barbarian sized bowl at Mongolian Barbecue. Took my girls out for valentines dinner. They had to witness the spectacle, God bless them. I did spare some of the rice so that it could warn the others that I would be back...

Ah, yes...the Mongolian Barbecue Barbarian bowl is the size of a small child's bath tub. IT has has whatever you put in it. Mine had beef, chicken bamboo shoots, sprouts, mushrooms, cashews, peanuts, plum sauce, Mongolian sauce, Thai peanut sauce fire oil and sesame oil. Then it was topped with noodles.
It weighed at least an honest six lbs.

You went to Mongolian BBQ for V-Day dinner?!?!?! That is the most awesomely manly thing I have ever heard. You are my hero Jay.
Having said that, it seems wrong to question you, but, do you really push the meat down into the bowl when you are loading it or do you just drop it in the bowl like a sissy? The size of the bowl is not nearly as important as making the cook hate you when he tries to empty the bowl onto the grill.

Ah yes Matt. I take the bowl, put a few veggies in the bottom, then shake vigorously like I'm tamping down concrete in a mold. Add meat to the side first, all around the bowl like side rails on a truck...then add meat to overflowing pressing it down along the way. Wrap noodles in a tight roll and gently press onto meat adding sauces to hold it together.
If the cook can fit it all into a bowl after cooking something went wrong. Food MUST fall from the bowl after cooking LOL...

6LBS!!!!! Yeah!!!!!
Once upon a time when I was 195-200ish and made the push to 230ish I was eating 13-15lbs of food 6 days a week. I would give myself a break one day a week and only eat if I felt like it.
6LBS at one meal???? Yeah!

Just had to make sure you do it right before I was duly impressed with your feat. Good job!

I too ate at Mongolian BBQ for Valentines day, I think its the same restaurant Jay? When I go I take two bowls to get all my food first bowl is specifically meat - sirloin & n.y. strip. pack as much meat in bowl as possible, then I put the veggies in second bowl - with sauce on the side. I know the cooks hate it, they have to slam the bowl on the cooking stone to get all the meat out then try to break it all apart to cook it. :D I also get seconds but end up taking some of the second trip home with me. I love that place, its a Strongman's paradise.

Is the barbarian bowl new? Our MBBQ has never had one. I also do the two bowls on one trip. Who wants to wait that long at the grill for four bowls when you can do it in two?

I just went to the Ann Arbor MBBQ last week and they definitely did not have this Barbarian bowl there. I have not seen it at any of the Michigan restaurants.

Anyone going to the Arnold Classic in Columbus, there is a Mongolian BBQ in walking distance from the convention center.

You should try competitive eating contests. The contests are a blast.

Brad, did you hit the one downtown or up at Easton? I love that place too, but shamefully I only can put down about a bowl and whatever the wife doesn't eat :(
After the Arnold closed down Friday night last year I ended up at the Max and Erma's across from the convention center and ate at a table next to Jay Cutler and his entourage. Oddly enough he doesn't look quite as imposing in person as in a magazine. I've found the opposite to be true standing next to the pro strongmen. I'm pretty sure Savickas' fingers are as big around as my wrist.

I agree. I met Ronnie Coleman and he wasn't as menacing as his photos. And besides I was taller than him and im only 5'11". Last year I got to shake Bill Kazmaier's hand and I thought he was gonna crush my hand when he shook it. Pro Strongmen are definitely more scary looking. They're huge!!! While bodybuilders are big, but most of them tend to be short for some reason.
