Ever go a really long time without food from one chain, only to return and immediately regret your decision? Yeah, I did that last night.

See, on our campus, there is only one fast food burger joint: Mickey D's. I have more or less adapted to these greaseball burgers; they have little effect on my system. But, any time I want me some Wendy's or BK, I have to go downtown, up to 30 blocks away, to get my fix. Usually this involves me riding a bike or a train, depending on how ambitious/lazy I am.

So, imagine my joy when I find out my friends are going to drive down to Burger King! I was ecstatic from the time we entered the car up until the point I was halfway through my Steakhouse Burger (cheese, fried onions, A1, dee-lish), but had yet to start in on my Double Whopper. We were all so happy when we began our journey, and then the Burger King turned on us.

I did finish my meal, the whole Double Whopper, Steakhouse, fries, and a Diet Coke, but my friends sat there, unsatisfied. The meal, while tasty and, indeed, quite scrumptious, left us feeling sick. As we waddled slowly back to the truck, we discussed what had just occured. The first fifteen minutes were filled with great anticipation and happiness, but when the meal was done, we wondered how we had convinced ourselves this was a good idea in the first place. As I sat in the back, I realized that not only did I have a stomachache, I also had an inexplicable headache. What was it? Was I having a stroke? Is it possible for the fat to block my arteries that quickly? I prayed that someone in the car knew CPR, as I was quite sure I would need it in mere moments, but the headache passed as quickly as it came. But then my thoughts turned to the future: what would the morning run not twelve hours away be like? Would I have a full-on heart attack? Faced with this dilemma, I thanked God that there are people on the football team the know CPR, and would administer it when I surely keeled over the next day.

Upon reflection, my friends and I all agreed on one thing: it was totally worth it.

I have the same feelings of elation and regret after eating fried cheese curds at Culvers.

I'm certain that I could eat Chipotle burritos until my stomach burst.

Otherwise I pretty much steer clear of fast food burgers and taco bell etc. Even when I have had a taste of them, they aren't nearly as good as I remember them being before I quit, so mostly I'm dissapointed by them anyway. I have fond memories though... Mmmm, memories...

I will never understand how you guys could possibly like Chipotle. The two times I have eaten there, I have felt a bit like the BK hangover described above. I guess that is just too much rice for my system...and then I start thinking about the eight bucks I paid and I get mad that I got ripped off and ate a crappy burrito.

Chipotle is an abomination of a burrito.

Chipotle is awesome. The only "fast food" that I eat is In 'N Out. I had it the other night and had not been there in a couple months.

I have been dieting for a few months for a contest this past saturday. Went from 242 to 226.5 at friday night weigh in, immediately after I ate $27.60 of Arby's. :) So worth it.

In N Out is God's gift to man, seriously, loved that stuff.

IMO BK is still pretty good, hate their fries though. Fave there is a triple whopper, or a special burger they have from time to time which is basically a triple whopper version of a bacon bbq cheeseburger.

McD's on the other hand is a regret every time I have it, with the exception of their chicken snack wraps.

Bk fries are like cardboard...no taste! As far as the triple whopper- only seen one eaten entirely ONCE. Thing must have weighed like 4lbs.

I think there is only about a pound of meat on the burger, a big burger at a real burger joint is twice the size of that. I am maybe 150lbs wet and have no problem putting down a triple whopper meal... fries and all.

I used to manage a BK and I had some interesting creations in the kitchen in my day. Triple Whoppers were just a warmup.

Not sure how I got to be 300+.

I'm experiencing some bad eater's remorse today. For lunch I went to Mickey Dees. At first I ordered two, sauce-less grilled chicken snack wraps and a Big & Tasty, but NOOO that didn't sate me. So I went back up there and ordered yet another Big & Tasty. After all that damage, you'd think I'd be done.... But since I had such great eater's remorse from the previous four items, I went ahead and ordered a McFlurry with both M & M and Oreo topping!:BB:

If that wasn't bad enough, I went to the parents house tonight and what did I find? A healthy sized bucket of Nestle Toll House chocolate chunk cookie dough in a rather healthy sized container. What did this guy do? I went to town on that she-ot! I had probably four heaping tablespoons of cookie dough, which I guess could have been much worse. Do any of you guys just end up completely giving up on your day/yourself when you eat a really crappy meal? I sure do. If I had one bad slip-up, I just go ahead and throw in the towel for the day. If I end up having two bad days in a row I'll usually just call it a bad week.

This is a great thread . . . I love coming to a lifting board and being able to talk about food other than boiled chicken and broccoli.

I get that same feeling of death after Burger King . . . I literally fear dying in my sleep if I eat BK later at night. Other fast food places don't quite give as bad a hang over unless I really over do it.

I like fast food a couple times a week. I prefer Wendy's or Chipotle if I had to pick. Wendy's has some real legit fries.

It seems to me like Burger King changed the recipe for their fries sometime around 1998 and they've been basically inedible since, the only thing worse than BK fries is BK onion rings and the only thing worse than BK onion rings is salted cardboard. McDonalds used to have really good fries too, but some time over the last decade they began to taste like dirt; however, they are still better than Burger King's.

Also, there is something about McD's ice cream and shakes that doesn't seem right, I almost feel like they store them at too low of a temperature. BK has much better shakes and a Wendy's Frosty is always good.

Lastly,I should add that in my experience each place varies depending upon location and management. I have learned that if I walk into a fast food place and the oldest person working is 17 then the food will taste like complete crap and I'll just leave and drive to someplace with some adult supervision.

Man I didn't know that this many people on here eat at fast food restaurants. I am truly amazed. The way I was taught is to stay clear from those types of places. Every once in a while I will eat at QDOBA, but that is rarely. Do the top pros eat fast food on a regular basis too? I just might have to jump on the bandwangon if I stop seeing gains.

Now you know what's keeping you from loading that 400lb stone. Time to start pounding cheeseburgers! ;)

I can put down fast food with the best of them. McD's, BK, Wendy's, Taco Bell (only after midnight), no problem...as long as I stay away from the fries. The fries make me feel like trash.
