Can anyone offer advice on finding an old building or garage to train in,without having to throw out a ton of cash? The ymca we train at recently built a new building and will no longer allow us to bring in our things(log, axle, farmers, box sq boxes, chains, bands etc..).We have quite a few pieces of equipment that we have aquired. Now we just need some space.Any ideas?

Maybe take out a storage locker.

Find an old gas station that has a garage attached.

I like Mac's idea, pull out all the equipment on weekends and scare all the people driving by on there way to church!!!
But, realistically, I would find one of the lesser known storage units out in the boonies or something. Cheaper, more likely to let you pull the equipment out on the weekends and train, maybe they'll even cut you a deal if you wear there shirts periodically? Split the cost however many ways you can with the guys you regularly train with. You could probably get away with much less than 100$ a month then split that 3 or 4 ways.
THEN, go into that good ole "YMCA" and ask them to cut the price of your membership in half. Y'know, because "that was the only reason you had a membership there..." ;)
Just some thoughts, good luck.

Our crew had a similar thing occur last year. We looked for other places, asked other gyms, priced storage units, asked random farmers if they had an empty barn, etc. We ended up "temporarily" using my garage and driveway, going out into the street (very rural) for yoke, farmers and tire flipping. After cleaning it out and setting everything up, it is a surprisingly nice place to train. In fact, better than the gym we used to train at, and no more stolen equipment!

The storage unit would be my choice. Not very expensive, especially if you are splitting it up between several guys. You can get enough space and headroom to train indoors if you find the right place, and there is a good chance you can throw the door open on it and take your gear out into the roads between units.
