Anyone know of someone that has pinched gripped two of these, confirmed? I know US Olympic Team Coach Gayle Hatch has done it. I also know that Richard Sorin has done it. Does anyone know of anybody else that has done this old time feat of strength?

Do you just mean pinch gripping 2 45's smooth side out with one hand? Check out the gripboard. I know a lot of people there have, and they should have a partial record list of those that have (haven't checked the records in a while). I know Wade Gillingham has done 12 revolutions around his back a couple years ago.

Edit: Found the video. Just youtube Wade Gillingham pinch. He has that, pinching 3-35s, doing a famers walk for 40' while pinching 2 45s in each hand, all from 2003, and he recently put a vid of him 2-hand pinching 261.5 lbs.

My good friend Dave Juma has done this before. Quite easily in fact, which makes me hate him for his grip strength even more :EP:

He's also picked 3-25s without a loading pin through them. As well as a many other ridiculous feats of grip strength.

Go over to Gripboard Mark, you'll find a lot of legitimate records of grip strength there.

I don't know about York style but I have seen Brian Shaw do two 45's smooth side out.

if he means the yorks like the pair i have they are the deep dish type and are much harder to do than the modern milled plate pinch. its 2 2" plates with a thin rim facing each other.

Thats the ones I'm talking about Amy, the old Yorks that they stopped manufacturing in 1978.

I can do two 45's but the york 45 may as well be glued... they are often not perfect so they are very difficult to pinch.
