You can look up lifts from guys like Janne Haikartenen, Darren Sadler, Danny Anderson, Justin Blake, Kirk Nowack, Kevin Nowack, Jared Spybrook, Adam Keep - these are all international level LW strongmen with Janne having won 105 Kg World's most recently.
A lot of the guys listed above have videos posted on Youtube.

Here are some records in u105k series..
Log lift 12" - 160kg - Aki Katajamäki, Finland
Farmer's walk 70 meters - 120kg; 38,28 sec. - Fouaid Hsaini, Holland
Super yoke 25 meters - 370kg; ~15 sec. - Maris Rozendahl, ?
records are from SCL..

His press is pretty good and definitely better than Blake's numbers in training. Blake is a gamer though. He seems to always put up a big press in contest, but if you look at his training it's nothing extraordinary.
The thing is with LW Pro guys, anybody is beatable. That includes Blake, despite him winning several shows in a row.
Let's not get carried away here. The European LW Pro guys have shown at Worlds they are above and beyond the Americans.

Janne Hartikainen has won 105 Kg World's at least 3 times. I would not discredit Janne's strength. He has videos with 340+ log press, 660 deadlift for reps, and 400+ front squat for reps. That is good static strength in my opinion. Especially for someone who has also proven to be fast and explosive on events.
Danny Andersson actually came here and competed in the American LW Pro Nationals back in 2007 and was very impressive as well in my opinion, specifically on the deadlift event where he pulled I believe in the neighborhood of 900 lbs from 15".
Fouad Hsaini posts on here sometimes (105 Kg Pro from Holland) and has some pretty impressive videos of Yoke, Log, etc. - he even puts his head through a door prior to one of log lifts, pretty intense. http://www.fouadhsaini.com/
With that said Justin is definitely right there with these guys, his grip strength, conditioning, deadlift, overhead pressing, and general well-roundedness would make him very competitive at the world level.

I was about to say the same thing (he's in his later thirties, also and still consistent).

He was very impressive. And he's yoked at about 5'8 tall. He pulled 880 on the hummer tire deadlift from 14 or 15". He also has a good log press.

Danny went to worlds in 07 after easily beating all LW american pros. Blake was not a pro at this time and seasons change. But Danny only pacled middle of the pack in China, 7th or 8th place. IMO, the European LW pros are better. Danny showed us that.
Even though I love Danny, I dont think he is on Janne's level or anybody for that matter on Janne's level. His training vids are good but he still dominates all world comps.
Whoever wins Bangor, Maine should give us americans a solid finish.
I think Blake is the odds on favorite, but for some reason my heart belongs to Mihalov.

what did you base that statement off of? thanks for the vote of confidence though
i believe Mr. Hartikainen is competing in the Champions league contest this weekend, and will surely do very well. He will also get to show his static strength with a max log and deadlift on the agenda. Also he hasnt just won it three x, he's won it ALL three x.
Scott - its 6 in a row (including one HW am contest) just wanted to gloat once before it ends...haha

It honestly seems like more than 6. You have been on fire lately. I hope I can give you a run for your money in a future contest.

I will try my best to put up some sort of competition mix from Finland's U105k competition from year 2006.. That will give some momentum from Janne's allround skills.. :)

I don't know if your question was rhetorical or not, but ... your deadlift is much better, and from watching his farmer's/yoke videos, not only do you accelerate faster, but your top end speed is faster. It could be just what he chooses to post, but you are moving 100lbs more then him on the Farmer's walk consistantly.

I have competed with a handful of the guys that Justin would be against if he went to worlds and I think he could do really well. Danny put on such a clinic and laid the ass down on us because he is fit for that type of contest, but that was not what the 105kg Worlds or really any contest is like out here. Most of the contests are a bit lighter (way lighter than the 2007 US Nats), very fast, and have a bunch of events. Justin would need conditioning more than anything to get through the contests and he has a pretty good amount of it so he will do just fine.
On the records topic, I am not sure any of the records are really kept. I mean, from what I hear the equipment at the worlds is crazy stuff and is terribly mislabeled, like a 300kg yoke (heard it felt more like 350-380kg) was crushing most of the guys, but we all know they could sprint with that weight.

Adam is completely right here! The equipment there's kind of like a showbag, you never know what you get ;)
One more word about Janne: The reason why he is so successful is not the fact, that he is terribly good at one or another event, but because he isn't bad at any! He finished top 3 at almost every event at the worlds 2007.

The record I've putted earlier on the topic are records that are from one of the SCL founders Ilkka Kinnunen who is also one of the head referees at SCL competitions so I think he knows about the records..
There's a record breaker competition in Finland wich is held same time as Finland's u105k championship competition in early august..looking forward to crush the log lift world record!! :BP:

thats great, but you're not a lightweight ryan. you're not fooling anyone :T:
if a LW hits a 400 log, then that is just stupid... A heavyweight better crack 500 soon otherwise they're not gonna seem so impressive...

Are you going to compete this Weekend at the Finnish heavyweight Nationals? And if yes, will you than try to break the log-world-record there, or are you going to start 105+ there?
I just did 170kg in training and I'm going to try breaking it May 30. at our Nationals in the log lift. I hope to be able to lift 170kg there. :BP:

Good luck to you in breaking it!! :mag:
