I'll be down in the Houston area for five days at the end of July. Are there any gyms worth visiting in the north Houston area? I'm staying in Tomball. Where ever the hell that is.

Steve, Josh Thigpen posted this in the "Is your Gym Hardcore? Take 2" sticky at the top, back in November 08
Just wanted to let everyone know that we are opening up a gym on the southside of Houston TX.. So anybody in the clear lake, league city, friendswood, pearland, pasadena, texas city, deer park area, this is going to be your place! We have close to 2000 square feet that also has office area, where my chiropractor will be working out of. His name is Zack Mcvey. He has never not fixed a problem I have and he does physical therapy and rehab stuff as well. He can also do blood panels to find vitamin deficiencies etc.. And to top it off he is a powerlifter and strongman himself, so he understands guys like us! He is legit! There will be whirlpools in the gym for ice baths, and hot cold therapy. The gym will have power racks, oly platforms, strongman equipment etc. There will be no mirrors, and no gay music. It is for serious athletes. It will be located off hobbes road on 518 in league city. Check it out! . Just imagine a training compound where you can train in a serious environment with chalk, yelling, dropping weights, whatever, followed up with an adjustment and physical therapy by Zack, and finish up with recovery in an ice bath! We are trying to create the perfect place for guys like us. We should open and have our first full month in December! Any questions pm me or call me at 832-668-4684.
Sounds awesome

yeah, i was thinking of maybe taking a drive down and see about training there. I dont think its anywhere near where i'm going to be though. Plus it has to have bumpers for my wife and her fancy olympic lifting.

Ryan Bracewell has a good gym in Houston, he posts on here so hopefully he will see this thread. It is called "The Asylum" and Travis Ortmayer trains there as well.

Ditto. Ryan's gym is on the north side of Houston in the Kingwood area. Josh's gym is on the south side around Friendswood.
