Me, well... honestly I love to keep MYSELF in competitive state. I love to train and the comraderie in the sport. I love how everyone roots for each other and that no matter from what walk of life you are, when at a competition everyone seems like a big family.

I do it for me and to keep active and make myself proud. Whether I place or not, I am already a winner for doing something never in my wildest dreams I would've imagined.

I love that I can't change a tire or pump my own gas LOL... but I can flip one. I can deadlift more at a comp than I push myself in the corporate gym I belong too, lol. I gotta find a new gym its so girlyMan. I love the sport very much and it loves me right back with bruises, scrapes, tire burns .. and the remnants of tacky in my nails. I love that I can somewhat keep my diet bodbuilder clean but have the appetite of a StrongMan trapped in this little body ;) cause I love and refuse to give up ice cream :xo:

I love being a StrongWoman...

There are so many reasons, and I find myself continuously falling in love with this sport.

- The camaraderie between competitors, event organizers and such. I've never been involved with something else were your competition is friendly and willing to help you. We all want to see one another do great.

- The lifting itself is fun! It's fun to use these implements. Even though the weights might be extremely light for me at the moment, it still makes you feel a little superhuman when you are doing it in front of a bunch of people.

- The confidence I've received from competing is awesome. I've never competed in anything before, so now that I'm getting into strongman I have been bitten by the bug. I'd always had a fear of performing in public, having a crowd of people staring at me as I'm trying to get into beast mode. Once the first event at my first comp was completed, that all went out the window.

- Seeing myself using the equipment that I've seen Magnus Samuelsson use on TV for years has made me feel good. I've always looked up to the guy, seems like nothing but class runs through his blood. It makes me happy to know that people like him started somewhere really small just like I am now.

- I love relaxing after a competition and driving home with my friends. It's a bonding thing for my friends and I when we take these road trips to compete. Plus, we see areas we've never been prior.

- After a comp, coming back to my little crappy commercial gym, I feel more relaxed. When I'm at my gym, I'm constantly pissed off at the "wannabe" bodybuilders who are there, who don't follow any type of training program and who never make any progress in strength or mass. These guys have stayed the same size and had no strength gains in the two years that I've been weightlifting. It makes me laugh because I know how big I've gotten. And it lets me know that no matter how light the weight is I may be lifting in a competition, these gym rats could never last a day in our shoes.

...there's much more but that's what immediately came to mind.

No two competitions are the same. Different events, weights & equipment make every competition a truly unique experience.

I blame mental retardation for my love of this overly expensive, body destroying, uncomfortable HOBBY.

Because I have a huge man crush on Easton Taylor and want to be just like him. :B:

Actually aside from being competitive, alot of competitions have charities that get some of the proceeds so it allows me to give back to the community by competing and putting on a good show for those who are there and possibly getting them to donate. As well, not that I like to lose by any means, but every time I do lose, it gives me something to look forward to by getting better.

I do it because it's hard. It's just that simple. Not many people can do what we do. While other people are just passing through life, we are tearing through it and will have something to show for it in the end. What we will have to show can come in the form of trophies, newspaper clippings, proud memories, or even scars, aches, and pains. But the most important thing to me, is the pride and self respect I have for myself in knowing what I sacrificed in order to achieve my ultimate goals.

1-It's easy on the knees...

2-It's cheap...

3-The prize money...

4-It brings the bears out of the woods...

5-Sheer motivation, rest and nutrition will be enough for me to overcome Pudz some day...

It answers the question "Why am I training"

For years I trained heavy then got bored and let myself go then repeated the cycle.

I mean why does it really matter what I can deadlift? I work at a bank!

Now it matters!

My only regret is not finding the sport 10 years ago. I'd be retired by now with all the prize money you guys are getting. :T:
