I had a plan to do repetition stone lifting over a metal bar, similar to arnolds. I train alone. The problem I'm having is, after I drop the stone over the bar, it seems to have a mind of its own. Rolling, sometimes fast, one direction or another. I've tried plywood, rubber mats, seat cushions, and a tire. The tire sort of worked, if everything was lined up exactly right, but it slowed the time till the next rep way down. Any ideas?

Make a ramp with two tires (small) on the far side corners and plywood ramping back down to you with a horse trailer mat on top.

place a tire further back then the stone will land. then place a rubber mat half over the tire and half over the ground. that will make a slope for the stone to roll back to you (or at least not roll away.)

If all else fails have a training partner on hand to give it a shove in the right direction.
