I remember when my bro started riding BMX if you could hop over a trash can you were the man. When I rode, if you could do a 360 off a loading dock you were awesome. Now...jeez...makes me wonder what they'll be doing in another 10 years.

TRULY AMAZING!!!
Its always interesting to see what people can do, with dedication and determination. To see someone push the limits of what is considered the norm... Very nice!

It's called "trial riding". The object is to navigate obsticles without touching the ground.
The bikes for trial riding are different too; They are smaller frames, to be lighter, most times riders won't have seats on them so they don't get in the way, the brakes are super powerful (won't find them on normal bikes), and the gears are different to allow more power.

What you said about that bikes that trial guys run makes no sense.
They run "super powerful" gears? (I notice you've since edited your post) They're (almost without exception) single speeds. They run a very low gear, with a very compact cog / chain ring combination to save weight, and the do so at very high tension sure, but "super powerful"? What does that even mean in terms of a pedal bike?
And the brakes are bog standard hydraulic disc brakes adjusted slightly differently. Very soft with a lot of feel on the front, and very stiff with no feel on the back (assuming they have one; required in competition usually, not so much for street riding). Some guys that still run rim brakes use sand paper on the rims to rough them up, and even (heaven help us) a coating of tar or resin to make them more sticky.
What I'm saying is, you're talking crap about a subject you know nothing about.
i.e. you're BS-ing.
Plus trolling is such a strong word; I prefer to think of it as lurking and the occasional busting of chops...

I didn't edit my post...If you knew how to read you can see that i wrote "the gears are different to allow more power". What does that mean? it means they can generate more torque much quicker to get the bike up.

ok, so the brakes on standard bikes have changed in the last 15 years....i was a teen back in my riding days WHOOPIE

Again...WHOOPIE. I came out and said it was trials riding, and the bikes are different, so i guess i know something

Do you even lift weights, or are you here searching for bears like that other guy? I never see you post ANYTHING regarding your lifting, so i'm gonna say you're a bear lover. GO AWAY!!

I love the fact that we're arguing about bikes on a lifting board :marv:
The only thing I've understood in the last four posts was "a coating of tar or resin" and I thought "oooh, tacky..."

Thats absolutely crazy. And takes some serious balls to jump down 30 stairs, or off the top of a store front ledge

Not only balls !
He must have a pretty good amount of strength, the power to accelerate as necessary to do some of the jumps etc, and his bone density (from absorbing those landings) would be pretty high too.
I laughed to myself at the thought of Ken (or any other big guy) doing that.
Square wheels and crashing through the roof of CopyStop would result!
The tree might look a bit crooked after - and you would be stuck on top of the fence with punctures.
