More than two years ago I had all of my wisdom teeth removed. There were no complications; I was puffy for a day and sore for two weeks and had holes in my gums for a bit longer.

But since then, if I ever lift enough weight, my lower jaw where my wisdom teeth used to be start hurting, and this lasts for up to a minute. It generally happens as a squat or deadlift close to my max, and lately it's been happening when I squat over 300 or deadlift around 400, although the threshold was higher when I was stronger on these lifts.

I asked my dentist and he said that it takes a bit longer for the jawbone to heal and that if it persisted we could do an X-ray. I'm not too worried about it, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or any other tooth-related weirdness.

Yeah...Very similar... I had all of mine removed and experienced this weird, dull pain in my lower jaw for maybe half a year after the removal whenever I lifted heavy.

Could have dry socket.

I had that from my wisdom teeth removed, mine were impacted and the pressure felt like my head was going to explode. I don't think it showed on my xray. I complained of pain and the doctor finally went in and put a needle in the gum and out came some infected material. They cut me open and let it drain, and all has been fine since. Maybe you can ask if this is what is occuring?

Hmm. From what I understand dry socket is painful all the time? I haven't felt pain in over two years, except when I lift heavy. I'll look it up.

When I had dry socket it was worse when I lifted heavy weights.

What about an infection in the area?? Maybe a small tear is allowing access from your sinus into the area?? I hope you get it sorted out whatever it is.
