Greetiings from Detroit. This one of the best run Super Bowls I have been to and I have now been to 11.
For what it is worth, here is my prediction.
This game has all the makings of a classic. Two evenly matched teams talent-wise, both teams are made up of players with little or no Super Bowl experience although both head coaches have been here before.
Both teams were not fazed at all with the media crush that is the Super Bowl although seeing him in person Thursday, Seattle Seahawks TE Jerramy Stevens seemed a little shaken by the stir his comments created especially the reaction from Pittsburgh Steelers LB Joey Porter.
Seattle has a superior running attack and an offensive line led by Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson. Even though the Steelers have an awesome rushing attack themselves, the Seahawks are built better to control the game.
I believe the Seahawks will take away the running game from the Steelers and force them to put the game in their quarterback's hands. Ben Roethlisberger will make mistakes and turn the ball over. Not because he will choke but because he is due.
The Steelers have lived on the brink for almost two months and that is too long.
The Steelers are like a basketball team that has made up a 20-point deficit and ties a game in the fourth quarter...they usually expend so much energy in the great comeback that they run out of gas too soon to finish. And I think that will be the case here.
The Bus is a great player whose time is passed, Shaun Alexander is a star now.
Stars plus defense win titles.
Seattle 24, Pittsburgh 21.
