Wow this town needed that! I'm a third generation Steeler fan, my grandfather worked in the steel mills of which the Steeler helmet logo was formed! This team means alot to this city and for many reasons it's fans are emotionally attached to the team in a way most folks can't understand. I thought the Seahawks played a great game and are a great team! Don't worry you guys got Jesse Marunde, oh wait he's from Sequim? ;)

I think you should congratulate the referees first, and then the ghost of any Seattle sports team that tries to compete at the top level and then falls apart.

whoa, whoa, falls apart? sure we had some dropped passes, and it wasnt our best performance ever, but let's look at the facts here, we had almost 400 yards, and only one turnover. a bogus PI call on what shouldve been a td forced us to go for 3, and later a holding call took us back from the 1 to first and 20 on the 29. and of course a very disputable touchdown was given to ben, which could of gone either way. personally i don't think he was in, and if the ruling had been the same, pittsburg would almost undoubtedly have gone for a field goal to insure points on the board for a tie. now this isnt taking away from the steelers, i think they played a great game, and people like cowher, ward, roethlisberger, and bettis all were very deserving of what they won. i just believe that we would have had a very different game had the third team let the players play in the biggest game of the year. but then again, what can you expect with how they officiated all throughout the playoffs?
all in all, i dont wanna take anything away from the steelers, they played hard and earned it throughout the entire season, i'm just very disappointed in the officiating.

I was happy with the officiating! But, then again, I was rootin' for the Steelers.
I'm not trying to bag on you guys but, whenever a team loses a big game, the fans almost always blame it on the officiating. And the fans of the winning team praise the officiating. The fact reamains, officiating is and always will be "the way it is". The losing team scored less, and the winning team scored more. So, what if the Seahawks had a TD negated by offensive pass interference. What was stopping them from getting into the end-zone 5 more times?

There was some bad calls, but these guys are professionals, they should be able to deal with it and come back. I am a big Seahawks fan, have been since the Zorn, Largent, and Herrara (sp?) days. But bad calls aside they still failed to capitalize on some key oportunities and had a couple of total failures on defense that cost them the game. As a fan I didn't think either team played that well and while the Steelers won it was on a couple of big plays, not because they controlled the ball and systematically marched down the field. Well hears to hoping that next years game is more competitive.

All professional sports are bought and sold, but there still fun to watch.

It would have been a lot more fun to watch if either quarterback had settled down and found a rhythm.

i agree with all that's been said pretty much, but let's be honest here... the most disappointing part was the commericals. there were only a few good ones, and waaaay too many abc commercials.

Not that I'm saying I thought the ref's were right on - in fact I think it's been bad - not just in the play off's but all year.....
.....but my old college coach used to say - "if your taking care of business the ref's won't effect the out come" If all the line black as they should - the QB thows like he should and the receivers catch like they should - there will be no doubt and you will win.....just something to think about.

Next time someone needs to hook Stevens up with some tacky.

I've been waiting 25 years for the Steelers to win it all and now that they did, people are trying to take it away by whining about bad calls.
The only calls that were actually bad were a missed offsides call on that Locklear holding play. A fumble by Stevens that wasn't called. And the low block on Hasselbeck.
The media has been trying to stir up some controvery just to have something to talk about.
Anyway it wasn't a great game. Seahawks didn't do much and the Steelers only had 3 good plays on offense.
Maybe the "bad officiating" talk will give the Steelers more motivation to repeat.
