Hey everyone,

Just wanted to say hello introduce myself. I'm Kristy, 23, and currently living in Las Vegas. I've been lifting on and off since I was roughly 15, and been training for PL'ing the last two years. After being bitten by the injury bug numerous times, I'm finally back on track and would like to try out strongman training. Basically my training right now is a combo of oly lifting and some PL'ing work, since I dont have access to any strongman implements at the moment.

I look forward to getting to know you all better in the coming days, and I thank those that have taken the chance to PM me with a warm welcome before I've even posted!

welcome! it's great to have another lady lifter on the board! it's tough finding equipment to train on. most of us have been forced to aquire our own. we have a new board sponsor coming who makes equipment...

Welcome to the board, I am sure there are lots of people here that can help with information on strongman training. I think there are some people on this board that live
in Vegas.

Glad to see you are posting! Do you compete in both P'lifting and O'lifting?

Thanks once again for the welcome everyone. :)

Mike, I haven't had the chance to compete yet. When it comes time I'll probably stick PL'ing or SM until I have some decent coaching on the O lifts.

Cool - do you have an entry forum out yet, Brian?

Northeast Wisconsin Strongman Challenge has a women's dividion, and it's a ProAm. It'll be on August 19 this year, in New London WI. No entry form yet, as events haven't even been determined. Here's a list of what the events will most likely be, in no particular order.

1) Flip and carry medley... 2 flips with a tire, followed by frame carry (like in my avatar)
2) Conan's Wheel...using a Harley Davidson Sportster for weight, but we can move it further in to make it lighter for women
3) Car DL with side handles...might use a barbell for women if we can't make the car DL light enough
4) Log press...men do a 4 log medley, women do 1 log for reps
5) Stones...all to 48", and we do have a light series for women and teens

Thanks for the heads up for the comps guys. I'll definitely take them into consideration if I manage to stay injury free.
