i'm a big fan of the old timers. read a quote from sig klein once that said very few men could clean [each rep ] and press 75 lb dbs for 12 reps. that was 50 or 60 years ago. i figure its even fewer now. could some1 help me come up with a program to accomplish this feat. i lift 3 days a week . 1 week upperbody 2x lower body 1x. the next week lower body 2x upper body 1x.i'm not a big fan of bench pressing matter of fact i don't even do it. right now could probably do atleast 6 reps with the 75's and my best is the 100's for 1 rep at 170 lbs bw. i do speed work for the ovhd lifts and then a max effort day.

You'll get better at dumbell pressing by dumbell pressing. I added 10lbs per hand to my max in 6 weeks by pressing twice a week, once with a pair of 50's with mini and eventually monster mini bands, and once a week doing ever increasing triples up to a max triple. Start with a strict press, then a push press and eventually a power jerk as they become necessary. I've always thought the best way to increase reps at a lower weight is just to get stronger. Adding 20lbs per hand to your max will make doing more reps with 75's alot easier.
