I was doing a stone run the other day and I felt a little twinge in my wrist. I have limited flexibility when I flex and extend my hands. Internal and external rotation do not hurt though. It also doesnt hurt when I do log press or farmers walk.

Do you all think this is just a sprain? It hurts bad in certain positions but not at all in others. Seems weird to me. Of course I could just be being a baby!

Thanks,

Chris

probably a little tendonitis. Icing will help as well limiting the movements that make it hurt....

if you are new to strongman and not the most flexible at the wrist, you will most likely have to get used to the pain. You have 8 wrist bones and they are all intermangled with ligaments. Overtime as you lose flexiblity the ligaments tighten or shorten and doing certain lifts. ie log, cleans of any sort.. will place your wrist at increased strain. over time with rest and stretching, you should gain flexibility and maintain it

Contrast baths are really good for tendonitis. Get two buckets, one with ice water and one with hot, as hot as it comes out of the tap. Soak your hands and wrists in the hot for as long as you can stand it, then switch to the cold for as long as you can stand it. Keep switching until the water starts to get close to room temperature.
