To add an avatar, click on "User CP" on the left side of the screen just above the Grassland Beef banner. Under Settings and Options click on "Edit Avatar"
I think the easiest thing to do is then click browse and attach an image from your hard drive. The image must be smaller than 120x120 pixels.
Post any extra avatars you don't mind sharing. If you see an avatar in this thread that you like simply right click on it and "save picture as" to your hard drive, then follow the directions in the first paragraph above. Finally, reply to this thread so we can see that you've chosen an avatar so no one else uses it too.
I bet Eric grabs one of my Hulk avatars....
