well, A couple of months ago my dad killed a 2000lb steer (grass fed of course) and it came in as 900lb dressed, mostly hamburger, with some nice slabs of steak and some roast! I absolutly love it! I bet there is 600lb in there now, 5 mouths to feed plus me :)

Jesse,
When you eat Ground beef how do you eat it? or how do you prepare it. Do you eat it Daily and how many Lbs a day would you say you eat. Ill have to get some quality beef from your sponsor if I ever get down there.

Ryan yes I think beef is better then chicken.. London broil is lean.. the fat that is does have has a high ratio of omega's... equal to fish!! and it has CLA, more readily digestable then the pills... also it is such a treat to eat it :)
Jesse eats about 3-4 lbs of ground beef everyday.. I usually cook it in a skillit with some seasoning... Because of the quantity of portion (1lb) he will not eat much with it maybe a few redskin pots or mix the beef with corn... he new fav is on whiole wheat bread with jalipino artichoke dip (from costco) on it... Some times I will cook up pasta and make meat sauce, and one time I tried to make meatballs... I thought they were meatballs... he ate them anyway heheheh
About every other day I will through in a roast for him. Depinding on the size he cn motor through them in a day or so...
He eats steak too when ever he gets the chance... Just depends on whats in the freezer... on the weekends we will do meat that need more prep time like briskitt.. we marinate them for a day and cook it for a day too....
you can look up recipes on grassland beef website... maybe Iwill contribute my marunde meatball recipe!!!

I don't know how you guys eat that much beef. I love the stuff, but every time I eat more than about a 1/4lb I feel bloated, tired and lazy (ok lazier), it doesn't seem to digest well. But with chicken breast I don't have any of those problems. Could this be caused by eating the crappy feed lot beef from the grocery store?

Absolutely. Try to find a whole foods, or a coop grocery near your house. They'll have the grass fed stuff. It's worlds better and doesn't leave you with a run down feeling like the grainfed crap you get at McDonalds and most grocery stores.

sweet bro. it'll help the forum if you place your order through the banner link. procedes help pay for the cost of operation...
Eric, dude, I can't eat store bought beef. I get bloated and backed up same as you. Grassland beef is totally free range. Just like elk or moose except the cows are fed clean grass and moved daily so the flavor of the meat is unmatched. I never used to eat beef untill I found Grassland beef.
check out some of the beef articles on my web site for more info on the subject...

Just bought the 20lbs (2 10lbers) of ground beef for $104 - no shipping cost over $100. Yes it is a little expensive, but the way I look it at - I get 20 lbs of meat and I get to support this board for only $100. As a matter of fact, I would recommend everyone that likes this board find something at Grassland Beef to buy and consider it your way of helping Jesse keep this board alive. If Grassland Beef isn't your deal, go to Egg Whites Interenational and do the same.
Happy eatting!

3lb! I thought 1-2lb was a lot in a day. I guess I got my work cut out for me. I just thought, there must be 300g of protein with 3 lb. I think I remember going to a caloricounter site that said 1lb was about 100g. that 3lb of beef alone will supply my daily protein needs!

They are both good, but a way to look at it is their BV(bio availability). Beef is slightly higher(more bioavailable) on the scale than chicken.

Waiting on $$, I have finally decided to bite the bullet and redo my budget to allow for the higher cost  . I finally have the wife on board also, she has the same problems I do with the feed lot store beef, makes you feel bloated and nasty.
Callile, have you tried making scrambled eggs with the Egg whites Int.? I am going to buy some this week and was wondering what the taste was like if you used it for scrambled eggs?
Thanks
i definitely have to agree with the grass fed beef being good. i gave up red meat for about 7 weeks and my girlfriend bought me two steaks for easter...just cooked the first one yesterday and it was real good...not a huge noticeable difference in terms of taste but seemed not to sit as long as i was hungry about 2 hours later.....nice to be eating red meat again though

I get ground bison at the local market all the time. Marinate it with fresh garlic and onions and plenty of worchestershire sauce and grill 'em up! Add a little aged cheddar and some BBQ sauce and you've got a great burger!

I was raised on it! Our neighbors on the farm had a bison ranch, from which we got ALL our meat when I was growing up. I attribute this to being the freak I am today :D It has more flavor and tastes better than beef (to me, but I have not tried Grassland), and is leaner than chicken. Between this and the wild meat we got from my Uncle (avid hunter), I've never been able to really eat and enjoy just plain beef. And now since I've been in the southeast, I'm pretty much just and chicken and fish guy. I'm REALLY looking forward to getting this bison!

I gotta agree with Geoff, bison steaks rule and taste better than Beef! I've bought them at Fred Meyer before Jesse. Its been 2 years since I've had a Bison steak, but it was tasty!
I'll still throw down at 28 oz Prime Rib though!
