Was wondering what anyone thought was the best way to heal them quickly after you tore them? I just did and every time I do anything that involves holding something in my hand the scabbing or newly forming skin tears off. Thanks.

I "superglue" mine down. I do this by pressing the skin down, then applying glue around the tear seam. Be careful not to get any in the wound itself. This allows the skin under the callouse time to "heal". Nu-skin might be a better choice, but I can't ever remember to pick any up.

To prevent callouse tears, take a pumice stone to the area the callouse is developing and sand it down. Callouses tear because of the skin buildup. Get rid of it before the tear and you won't have a tear...

Thanks Jay

My callous has already been completely torn off so its just this big depression in my hand with fresh skin. I've been using new skin and the stuff still comes off. I don't think the makers had strongmen in mind when they made the product.

hey dude, i tore mine at teen nats last summer All 4 on each hand. Big tears too not tiny each one left like a 1 inch wide hole/fissure thing. I used a crapload of neosporin, Kept them wrapped and bandage for about a week straight, Didnt train to much that involved grips, Just alot of presses. That got them To the point where i could start working Farmers and th such back into the mix of things. Just takes time. If you want to keep them from ripping open and still train Get alot of tape and gauze and just tape it really well before ya train.

To carry on training when I rip them, I wrap them good and wear straps for a week or so to take the pressure off my hands...

Fill that hole with neosporin, put gauze over that, then tape the whole mess up. It'll heal quickly and you'll still be good to train.

If you have trouble taping it, take a length of athletic tape and poke a hole in the middle. Expand this to a slit and put your finger through it. Then you've got tape going down over the tear and ending in the middle of your palm. Wrap tape all the way around your hand to anchor the ends of the piece covering the tear.
