Jesse/anyone...
How does everyone grip the stones? I notice that my power has gotten a lot better since doing the sandbag rows but I am still very inconsistent. I've tossed the 300 up no prob (no tacky) one workout then a week or 2 later it's glued to the floor. I think it's my technique because I seem to grab it different everytime. Do you guys do anything you are concious of or do you just grab and pull?
Thanks for any help,
Mike

I grab them with semi straight arms, some guys grab them with a little more bend in the arms.

Mike, do you go down and try to find your grip, fiddle with it a bit, take a breath, and then go up?

If you're doing this and having problems, you might want to try divebombing it. Just walk up to the stone, bend down, and immediately pick it up. It seems to help me because I don't think about it and end up psyching myself out. Bad stuff tends to happen when I think about stuff.

I'll give it a try. It definitely seems like I psych myself out sometimes.

I'd have to agree with the Dive-bomb technigue... I had problems psyching myself out and my friend Rocco suggested the dive-bomb. I have never had a problem getting the stones off the floor and onto my lap. As you know, it has been the stones spinning... which you helped me with.
Good job on the 300lber!

I find the stones come off the floor much easier if I bend over as far as possible and try to keep my chest on the stone, I think this puts the arms in a more powerful stone gripping position.

I do like Steve does if Im going to take the stone straight up to the platform,or if Im not using tacky, and have to get under the stone more to lift it.If Im using tacky and am lapping the stone first,I dive bomb the stone.

Do you do this even if you are lapping it first and do you do the same with and without tacky?

I will try this next workout along with the divebomb technique. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

By the way, I've ordered some tacky so I can get used to the heavier stones but I don't want to start relying on it in case it's not allowed.
