Should I crazy glue them down, or should I cut them off and put a bandaid over them? I want them to heal as fast as possible.

Use staples to keep them down. lol You should cut them off because it is just dead skin anyway.

Greg-

Wow! Those callouse tears are knarly. What did you do to get a tear on the thumb? Never seen a tear on the thumb before. I would disenfect them, place neosporin on them w/ bandaids (loose,) then when you get ready to train, tape them up w/ athletic tape...

Thanks

It happened on my last set of 10 rep deadlifts on the 3rd or 4th rep.

He was probably hook gripping. That's a sure way to get torn up on the thumbs like that.

Applying first aid cream like Neosporin 2x a day seems to reall yhelp mine whenever i tear a callous like that. And cut off that old skin with a nail clipper.

Do what Dan said and then put super glue on top. Dr.'s actually say superglue will heal it up the fastest, and it will keep bacteria and germs from getting in. I use it on minor cuts all the time.

Ouch.

I trimmed the skin off. I've never seen a callous get ripped off this deep before.

it should heal in about a week believe it or not. I tear my thumbs like that sometimes on hook grip For your workouts you can put athletic tape over it while it is tender.

When I tear a callous and I'm done training for the day, I like to cut it clean with some sharp tiny scissors or nail clippers. If I want to continue training, I keep the skin on there and superglue it shut then pack chalk dust around the wound. Chalk dust is like bondo for body parts. It has some magical properties.

That's pretty much what I did after I tore it, well minus the glue. After every rep or 2 I was putting more chalk on it until I finished all 10 reps.

It's so funny how if you're in the middle of lifting you can just work through it, but right after I finished my set, there was no way I was going to be able to do another one.

Wow, that is a nice tear.

That crazy glue thing sounds like something I should remember if I every have that one happen.
