Yo Jesse! What are the stats for your website now? I read in the archives you posted that it was 11000 unique hits a day! What is it now.??..I mean you are rolling close to 1000 members for the forum now!!!

Everybody help promote this sport however you can!! If everyone here did one thing then that would be 1000 things ( see mom I can do math!!! )

No seriously though let's get this mutha moving!!

2000 members by next Arnold..let's do it!!

We'll have to party when the 1000th member hits the board!! Wonder who it will be???!
Jesse will you give a million dollars to the 1000th member?? Come on man, let's get that dough out from under the mattress!!

BTW, how do you find out what member number you are?? I was wondering who member # 666 is....that's gotta suck!! or did you just bypass that number?

666 was Dan Harrison... Ironically he was the 10th person to sign up, but was still assigned that registration number... weird...

Anyone know how to market to get more people to sign up???

Jesse

Get people to sign up contestants at these contests that are being thrown everywhere. If people posts contests on your site they should promote your site at their contest.

I'll be promoting you hardcore come Arnold Classic time man. Tons of opportunity there.
I plan on documenting the whole weekend..if I am allowed by Jim Lorimer and crew.. on video and creating a free DVD of the experience. Your site will be a major focus in it. Guess I should ask your permission for this..you down...? I'll let you see the finished work before anything is thrown to the wolves...in case you have any ideas for additional stuff. Of course I have to buy a nice HD video camera first..that'll be coming in a couple of weeks..so I should be familiar with it come Arnold time....don't want to get crappy shaky footage! You can give the DVD away on your site also...and ask people donate to your site for the complimentary DVD. No catches here, I'm doing it for myself to have something cool to watch and to promote the sport. Plus my feeble mind has a hard time remembering everything that I see that weekend and I want to have it for the memories. Oh yeah the babes need their promotion too! ;)

Get some t-shirts that say plainly say Marunde-Muscle.com nothing fancy just plain shirts like FBI shirts. I can get one made for myself if you want. Pass them out at the Arnold or other contests. I'll wear one around at the Arnold.

You might want to lock up the site MarundeMuscle.com ----- with no dash, just to prevent someone from taking it...if you haven't done that already.

Jesse, every new person I see at my gym I tell them to visit the site and join. I dont' know if they are or not. I am thinking maybe if your modoerators got a hold of the MWR and found out about doing some strongman competitions or some shows like the Sequim irrigation show you just did but do them on some military bases that would really promote this forum. If you want I will found out and contact the MWR myself. Places like Fort lewis and the navy base here in Bremerton.

Im also a member of a offroading website, Stickers that you can put on your cars help alot. cost i think it was 1.99 for a sticker and the actual cost to make it was like .49$ and all extra money went to help fund teh board. Also the extra board money can help fund little contests for members on the site, like a raffle and the prizes are like ATP wrist straps or a gift card for some Grassland beef stuff like that.. Or a portion can be giving to help promote competitions at stuff.

Something to think about... as your forum and base grows, you are gonna get people that aren't into working out..they just like to watch and chat with people in the sport, and be entertained with videos and pictures and buy stuff. This could lead to a totally different atmoshere on the forum. It might be difficult to keep the athletes, fans, and everyone in between happy and not feeling alienated. If anyone can do it you can..just might have to post rules and have certain sections of the forum only available to athletes and original members... fans will sometimes chat about things that the athletes find uninteresting..and athletes will sometimes chat about things that the fans find uninteresting. But they will both need to chat with each other to keep the site hopping. Just my .02 but something to think about as you grow, how to mangage that dynamic. I could be totally wrong, but it is just a feeling I have based on certain things I've read on various threads. Hope noone was offended. Of course your ultimate goal is to get everyone training at some level. Later Jesse.

BTW I love the military idea posted above...the military would definitely be a fan base to tap into...and especially since the forum has some honorable veterans as members...troops need something strong and entertaining to take their mind off of their daily grind. The sticker idea is cool too...offroad sports is a good potential.

Not that my personal blog gets a lot of traffic (100 people a day about) every time I mention Jesse or something I find on this board I link off to his site.

thinking more about this, i would definately change the home page, the forum link is not too obvious, an also theres no talk about how you actually post here (amongst others)
