I'm having some pain in the meniscus on my right knee. What I'm trying to do to rehab it is ice, ibuprofen, and glucosamine. I also wear a knee sleeve when lifting. Is there anything else I could do that you guys have done to help it out?

are you having any locking or sharp clicking? is it joint line pain or patellar pain?

keep icing and using ibuprofen (400-800mg 3 times per day, take with food because it can be rough on your stomach, if you have any history of ulcers, ibuprofen may not be the best for you)

when do you get your knee pain?

I get the pain when I squat. It's on the left side of the knee cap of my right knee. There is no locking or clicking only a sharp pain about half way down in a squat.

how do you know it is your meniscus? MRI?

it may just be tightness. do you stretch?

I injured it in high school while wrestling and it feels like it's the same area. I do stretch regularly.

is it different if you wrap your knees or wear knee sleeves? If so it is probably tendonitis or patellar irritation. Try wearing some neoprene sleeves that are tight and see if that helps.

Sounds like it could be arthritis. As many here know I have had numerous knee issues. Just keep the ice and ibuprofen. I've heard Alleve works well but haven't tried it. Get an MRI to make sure that it's not any structural damage.

lately I have been wearing a neoprene sleeve, my wrestling knee pads. It does feel a bit better when I do wear them. I guess I just need to be more careful for a while until this passes.

also Adam..be sure to warm up really well..if it is something such as arthritis....warming up...is critical....

I know my knees feel like poop..until I get them warmed up..lots of pain, clicking...etc...but once I get the blood flowing..it feels good....

Try MSM. This stuff works.
