I am in the process of welding up some fat bar cable attachments like they sell over at the elite website. anybody ever use these things? they look like fun. I'm makin up a fat double d handle (2" like the one in the picture) and a fat tricep bar to start.

James .. I recently got a thich bar from BRUTESTRENGTH.com it's 2 and 3/8 in diameter.. I have started doing some DL's with it and bar curls also .. awesome for grip.. tough to clean it however.. i think thick bars are a great training tool..does anyone have any other thick bar exercises that may help for grip ??

I have used mine for just about everything ie. bench / incline close grip pressing, wrist exersises, squat up right rows etc....

well since we're talkin about fat bar exercises, i like to throw my "axle" on top of the squat rack and do pullups on it. It's really hard to hang on because the axle rolls. i can squeeze out sets of five if i'm lucky.

chins from a rolling 2" bar is one of our favorites.

Our gym has a complete set of "FAT" pull down/row attachments, as well as an axle from WILLIAMS STRENGTH (official NAS Inc supplier) - fun stuff  Can really put a new twist on an old exercise...

We have a thick handled |x| attatchment sort of like the one in that picture.I like it.I put it over the pull up bar and do pull ups with it.I also do pull ups with my axle like you mentioned.
