The other day I did max effort squat. I had no pain of anything and once I was finished I went over to my parents house to flip the tire for reps. It was then that I noticed a little pain right bellow my nee cap on the shin to nee cap region of my right nee. Thought it was nothing and proceded to flip. Once again not being bothered whiel fliping. Now it huts and it is kind of a sore feeling only worse. I can walk and everything but flexibilty pisses it off.
I did bench day yesterday and decided to do one light set(225lb) of legs to see what happened and it didn't really prevent me from squating but it was noticible.
Any sugestion will be welcome.

The bellows of pain underneath The Nee are the cries of his crushed enemies.

Likewise I have now got the same problem after doing heavy squats yesterday.
I've never had this problem before. Especially on my good knee!

I looked up the "patellar tendonitis" and it seems that it is exactly what the problem is. Souldn't be anything that holds me back infact I am iceing my nee right now and think it will be a speedy recovery!
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Patrick!

I get it too from squatting a lot and doing the olympic lifts through the week.
Usually, Ice, lots of stretching (even on off days....about 10min a day, 2-3x's a day is good) and if it really flares up a week off from squatting and you can be okay.
Tendonitiis is a bitch. Don't let it go to long before throwing ice on there or it can really flare up.
If it bothers you a lot you can always check out Active Release Therapy which handles tendonitiis pretty well.

Its just about gone now and I only started iceing it yesterday! It is my squat day tonight and I look forward to see how it goes. One thing is for sure I am gonna put the nee wraps on nice and tight!

wraps as in powerlifter type wraps or wraps as in re-bans? Re-bans are great because they provide heat to the conective tissue. The powerlifter wraps are not so great because they push the patella back further into the joint and increase the sheer force. I wouldn't use them if I were in your position.
I would defenitly warm up....A LOT! And ofcourse, some stretching at the end of the workout and then ice (pain or not) for 20min.
i agree with everything patrick said. when i was olympic lifting i would get fierce patellar tendonitis. voltaren cream was my savior...all my OL teammates swear by it too! works on all kinds of injuries. we order it here:

How old are you? Is the area tender/sore to touch, maybe with a noticible bump under your patella (Tibial Tubercle)?
If your in your teens, there is a bump and it's painful to press on, it might be Osgood-Schlatter condition. A lot of active male teens get it.
If not, I'd go with lower patellar tendonitis.

I am 20, it is just about all gone now nad I never let it stop my leg workouts, I stubernle still put my powerlifting knn wraps on whice I didn't make it worse but my have slow my healing down. But hey at least I got my workouts in. :)
On my heavy day I even wen't up too 600 for a set of two on my 18in box! Next workout I will probly be back to pr standards.

my first thoughts after reading the title was that someones in pain under kevin nee..made sense too as he would probably have 800lbs in his hands
ive had problems with tendons all over the place - good deal of nutrition an some high rep / light weight work at the end of each workout has solved these problems

I am totaly back to normal. last week I set a new Pr 600x4 18inch box. Just to set tings straight I usualy use a 16 or 15 1/2in box but every so often I use my 18IN so I can use more weight and shock me CNS.

I wish I could say I was back to normal.
I was squatting about 3 weeks ago with up to 660lbs. Ever since then I have the aforementioned pain below the knees (or nee).
I have tried everything. Laying off the squats, icing, anti inflammatories etc.
Anyone got any ideas?
My knees are still painfull walking up the stairs. I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks and hope the break away from the weights would cure it but any advice would be invaluable.

sounds like maybe patella tendonitis.
do you stretch? I would look at (a) tightness in your hips and/or (b) tightenss somewhere at the ankle. These problems can present themselves at the knee.
Is the pain medial or lateral?

Medial I think?
Re your tightness problem I've had a lot of problems with my achilles tendons in the past and wonder if it's related. They are still very tight particularly in the mornings.
Anyway was fed up with it and did some squats today. I felt them ease off a bit after the third set so went heavy. They feel quite good just now but I'll refer judgement until tomorrow morning.
Thanks for the suggestion.

problems with the achilles tendon will alter gait as well as squat form, creating poor movement at the knees. I would try and have someone assess your foot and ankle when you squat (just BW and do it with your shoes off to get a better idea) and see if you can pin point the problem. It could be that you are overpronating (flattening your foot) and placing more pressure on the inside of the foot (possible tightness in the peroneals), which will then cause the knee to track medially over the toes creating problems. Or, you could be placing to much weight to the outside portion of your foot (tight posterior tibialis maybe..) and creating the knee to track lateraly. These are things that needs to be assessed by someone so that you can figure out how to correct the problem.
just some ideas.
